Sólveig Dawnrunner is a skilled healer and herbalist currently living with a band of former Caledonians as a Loner.

The daughter of Thyri Dawnbringer and Merlin Knight, Sóli and her sister, Ingvildr Knight, were nursed by Teagan Stryder following the untimely death of their mother and another sibling. Despite her losses, Sólveig has grown up with a number of family members, including aunts Kalypso Savoy and Gaia Dawnrunner, a milk sister, and an abundance of cousins.

From birth up until the beginning of 2023, Sólveig grew, lived, and thrived in New Caledonia. There, she found her calling as a healer, apprenticing under Bellad Songthorn, fell into (and out of) love with a Salsolan, endured a terrible war, and survived the violent disbandment of the only home she ever knew.

Currently, Sólveig is a Loner traveling with a small collective of family members and traders from their former Realm.

1.1  Appearance

Summary

Although a mixture of several different subspecies of wolf, it's obvious by looking at her that there is no muddying to her genes from other canine species or dog breeds. Sólveig's fur is thick and of average length and, except for her mane which has a slight wave to it, lays straight. Taking after her maternal grandmother, Sólveig has a long, slender muzzle and well-proportioned ears. Her eyes are soft, warm, and expressive

Sólveig has a soft, pear-shaped figure and, having been born and raised in a prosperous pack, carries a bit of extra weight around her middle and thighs. She is likely to lose some of this excess weight as a loner, but precisely how much will depend on the success of the remaining family she has chosen to stick with.

While Sólveig is often seen in her Optime form and is very interested in hobbies and tasks that require hands, she often forgoes clothing. She is, however, fond of jewelry and other accessories. She often keeps her mane in various braid styles, both to keep it out of her way and also for style.

Sóli's palette consists mostly of warm sandy and auburn hues that are reminiscent of her Dawnrunner (and possibly Knight) heritage while she likely owes her blue eyes to her Stormbringer lineage.

Description:

Luath is a calico cat with characteristic patchwork markings of orange, black, and white. Tabby striping can be seen on the sections of her coat that are orange. She has a round face and large yellow-green eyes. She has a small, compact body.

Personality:

Obnoxious and mischievous, Luath seems at her happiest when she's being a nuisance to Luperci. An inquisitive creature, she doesn't reliably obey boundaries and will try to get her nose in just about anything a Krokaran is doing. Despite her annoying tendencies, Lua is an affectionate cat and can be a soothing presence when she senses someone is sad or upset.

History:

  • Born to Meerclar in August 2016 alongside four siblings.
  • Started living with Ailie Morgan in December 2016.
  • Ailie's daughter, Elle Cormier, assumed responsibility of Luath in the summery of 2017 after Ailie when missing.
  • Latching onto the mischievous Elle, Luath starts to spend more time with her.
  • Stayed in Krokar when Elle left to join Mistfell Vale in the summer of 2018.
  • Fled Fiskebyn near the end of October 2018 when it was set on fire. Fearful and misplaced, Luath chose to remain with the Cormier-Parhelion family following Krokar's disbandment.
  • Luath joined the Cormier-Parhelion family to the St. John's Chokehold where she resided as part of The Shoal until mid-August 2019, when she left with Percival Parhelion to start their new life in New Caledonia

Also relatively small and almost perfectly square, this modest little residence has always been cozy and comfortable for the little Dawnrunner-Knight family. With two small bedrooms and an open kitchen-living area, it almost seems to invite closeness, collaboration, and communication between those living within its walls. There is a nearly constant smell of herbs, feathers, and wood shavings from the family's various crafts.

Summary

Sólveig is born on the 12th of February alongside sisters Ingvildr Knight and Rúna Stormbringer. Born with a birth defect, Rúna passes away six days later. Her death is followed quickly by that of her mother, Thyri Dawnbringer, whose health had been in a steady decline since parturition. Their father, Merlin Knight, acts quickly to ensure the survival of his remaining two daughters and enlists the help of Teagan Stryder, who had recently given birth to a daughter of her own, to nurse them. Sólveig and Ingvildr spend the remainder of February in the Stryder-Ridley household.

Summary

Older now, Merlin takes Sólveig and Ingvildr out more and more often around the City Square and nearby landmarks, introducing them to new faces and teaching them skills of importance, as well as interesting things they may enjoy as hobbies. They have more a presence within New Caledonia, but are always accompanied by their father.

Summary

August brings changes to Sólveig, who shifts for the first time (a short time after her sister) near the middle of the month. She learns how to hunt in her Optime form, how to pluck and dress a turkey, and participates in pack-wide feast.

Summary

Gaining confidence, and discovering interests of her own, it is here that Sólveig starts to come into herself and can be seen nurturing the thoughts and ideas that she finds curious and appealing. Though she is no longer seen as often with her father, she is still almost always accompanied by her sister, Ingvildr. Together, they begin to explore some of the more distant reaches of their pack's territory.

    Following the suggest of their father, Sólveig and Ingvildr scour the Sword Coast for useful items. On their way back to the City Square, they come upon Rand praying by the river.

Summary

While her sister, Inga, takes more of an interest in their father's archery skills, Sóli follows her mother's path and begins to make more of an effort in deciphering the old apothecary book she inherited, learning about the plants around her pack, and seeking out those within New Caledonia who can help to provide more knowledge about the trade.
