Pilot Haddon

Pilot Haddon was born to Lily Sasso and Expo Haddix on March 31st, 2005. His littermates included one stillborn sibling, a sister, and his brother, Lannen Haddix. After becoming lost in the woods, a squirrel named Leah Haddon became Pilot’s surrogate mother. He also gained a brother by the named of Aiden Haddon.

Pilot came across his "first" wolf, Gibraltar, on January 2nd, 2007 and was accepted as a Subordinate into Storm. He remained in the pack until it disbanded, eventually becoming a leader alongside Phoenix and ultimately ending up as the Alpha. He then came to form Shadowed Sun with an acquaintance of his, Tayui Aston.

1.  Pre-Bleeding Souls History

When Pilot was very young, he got lost on his own outside of his den in a very large world. His pack searched for days to find him and when they didn't, his mother cried over him and his probable death for days. A puppy this small would surely not be able to survive the ordeal, but Pilot had pulled through with the love of his surrogate squirrel mother. Sure, raising a wolf pup had been awkward, and despite the fact that he knew barely anything about living like a wolf, he hadn't turned out that bad. In fact, he made quite a fine squirrel.

His surrogate mother had told him that is was time to venture out and live with his own kind (though they promised him he would always be welcome to their squirrelly home). It was like a twisted story of captivation and release into the wild. Pilot would have to learn everything for the first time. He had always lived as a squirrel and never as a wolf.

2.  Bleeding Souls History

Pilot first came to Bleeding Souls on January 2nd, 2007. With the help of a few passing squirrels, Pilot came across the first wolf he could remember seeing (as he didn’t remember his biological family) and discovered he was Gibraltar, the Alpha of Storm.

After being accepted as Subordinate, Pilot quickly began experiencing what life as a wolf entailed. Starting as a vegetarian and severely malnourished, Pilot learned how to catch fish from Skoll.¹ After some time, he ventured into the world of living as a carnivore when Phoenix introduced him to hunting.² He quickly changed his eating habits and began to gain weight and increase his health.

He idolized Gibraltar for the limited time that the Alpha remained in Storm. Later, Phoenix would act as a mentor of sorts. Pilot eventually rose in the ranks, and held the following: Alpha Male, Gamma, Altester, Jager Fuhrer, Wahrer, Spaher, Graduiertier, and Subordinate. He seemed to make quite a few friends and acquaintances in his first year there.

3.  'Souls History

Pilot fled Storm during the fire and found Tayui Aston. The two decided to form Shadowed Sun together, and met up with some others who were interested in becoming potential members. Pilot dug himself a den within Shadowed Sun's borders. Next to it lies a small garden used for medicinal purposes.

3.1  Shadowed Sun Founding

Pilot formed Shadowed Sun on April 5, 2008 alongside Tayui Aston, Kieran Heartsong, Skoll and Zexion. They sought to create a pack intent on learning and sharing knowledge. Tayui and Pilot pooled their books together in a pack library, open to any pack member or even non-member.

3.2  Crimson Dreams Founding

Pilot formed Crimson Dreams on September 21, 2008 alongside Naniko D'Angelo and Savina Marino. The initial members were Urma, Anu, Jazper Rhiannon, Ehno Marino, Kansas Sadira, and Odebeh?. Around this time Pilot began to discover an attraction for Urma, but was scared to abandon the idea of Dierdre and couldn’t fully commit to this new relationship.

In October of 2008, Hybrid Holocaust came across Pilot and was quick sodomize him. Following this, Pilot was held captive in a cabin for two months. It was clear when DaVinci discovered his presence there that Pilot had begun to display symptoms of Stockholm syndrome.

Eventually in early December, Pilot escaped the confines of the cabin. He immediately decided to leave Crimson Dreams with the notion of not telling anyone of where he had been the last two months. However, Savina came across him on his way out of the pack lands and immediately attacked Hybrid in revenge for what he had 'done' to Pilot. Soon after Pilot came across Ember Phoenix and Tayui Aston as they were forming AniWaya and, having nowhere else to go, decided to stay.

3.3  AniWaya Founding

Pilot helped found AniWaya as one of the non-tribe members. Along with Ember Phoenix and Tayui Aston, he assisted the AniWayans found a new home. In early January 2009, Pilot is reunited with his brother, Lannen, who had travelled from Maine and joined the ranks of AniWaya. Days later, on January 21st, Pilot decides to leave Nova Scotia altogether and travel to Maine to be reunited with his biological family. He comes across his son, Apollo, and after telling him of his plans, the two decide to head off together.

5.  Abilities and Talents

5.1  Low Speech

Low speech is second nature to Pilot. He soon discovered it was not common among wolves and taught some of the basics to Tayui Aston, with some assistance of a ghost crow named Bandit.³

5.2  Medical Knowledge

Pilot became interested in medicine when he observed Naniko D'Angelo’s skill in the field. Because there was no one in Storm capable of healing, Pilot strived towards becoming the Apothecary. With a bit of help from Naniko and by studying books, Pilot was able to create a bank of medical knowledge for himself.

He is now the Medicine Man for Shadowed Sun and tends to an herb garden he has grown to provide fresh medical supplies. He stores all medical books and resources in Shadowed Sun’s library.

5.3  Reading/Writing

Reading and writing first interested Pilot when he ventured into a library with Dierdre Rhiannon. She first helped him with trying to read some of the words. Later, during low speech lessons, Tayui Aston also aided Pilot in his endeavor to read and write. By borrowing books from the city library, Pilot began to hone his reading ability until he was at an intermediate skill level.

5.4  Fishing

Growing up with squirrels, Pilot became a master at gathering flora to create salads and the like. Now, he has grown to be a great fisher, and does so with ease most wolves would experience with traditional hunting.

6.  Weaknesses

Due to Pilot's small stature, he is naturally not built to be a fighter. He also has few skills in traditional hunting and has to rely on pack hunts for substantial amounts of nourishment.

7.  Appearance

Pilot is part arctic wolf and timber wolf; his fur is completely white, with the exception of a few light grays that may sometimes be visible. It is slightly shorter than the average wolf's fur, accentuating Pilot's small frame. Pilot's eyes are both colored a monotonous, stony shade of silver. He has a rather small frame compared to most other wolves. This is due largely to his nutrition, which was highly lacking in his early years, but also slightly caused by genetics. He is not built to be either a hunter or fighter - his muscle mass clearly reflecting this. The only normal sized attributes are his paws, which appear to be large and bulky in comparison with the rest of Pilot's frame.
