1.  Lifestyle

Percival Teach is a pirate, and lives a life of such. This involves traveling, trading, buying/selling treasures, stealing, drinking, signing and et cetera.

1.1  Speech

Percival has a tendency to drop many particular letters, namely 'g's found at the end of verbs, or 'v's. He has typical 'pirate' talk, saying 'ye' instead of 'you', or 'me' instead of 'my'. Percival often uses the word 'be' in place of other, possibly more grammatical correct auxiliary verbs, such as 'will'. His grammar is less than correct, the hybrid in the habit of using 'ain't' as a word, as well as double negatives.

Examples

  • Are ye waitin' fer someone?

Are you waiting for someone?

  • Ah be willin' t' carry tha' out fer ye, Cap'n.

I am willing to carry that our for you, Captain.

  • T'ain't nothin' t' worry o'er, sir.

It ain't nothing (isn't anything) to worry over, sir.

2.1  Forms

Lupus

Despite not minding being in his lupus form, Percival does not particularly prefer it, due to the smaller structure. His fur is relatively short and slightly softer than the usual coarseness of his most predominant breed of his lineage. In this form, Percival's movements tend to be more brisk, and he is quite light on his feet. Due to his mixed genetics, in his lupus form, Percival stands a bit taller than average, making him considerably more agile in gait.

Secui

Because of the personally felt awkwardness of being in this uncomfortable phase, Percival is rarely ever seen in a secui form. His build is more lanky and his bodily structure highly defined (ribs/spine protruding, etc). He often finds this more of a burden than a blessing, and will only be seen in his secui form if there is a dire need for such changes. Percival's fur is semi-longer in this form.

Optime

Percival is more inclined to feel considerately able in this form, and finds it not only more effective, but appealing, aesthetically or otherwise. He can most often be found in his optime form, as it is his primary choice of stances. Percival has a straight stature with an average build and stands taller than most whilst in this form, his advanced agility and brisk movements viable still.

2.2  Build & Species

Are they tall or short? Lean or chubby? How do they carry themselves -- confidently and proudly, or humbly and unassured? There usually aren't significant differences between body types from Lupus to Optime -- lean, thin individuals will remain lean and thin, and thick, muscular individuals will remain thick and muscular.

If they're a hybrid, you can talk about what species your character most resembles, and how the different species play into their appearance -- e.g., doggish build, wolfish undercoat, coyote muzzle, etc.

2.3  Coloration & Fur

Coloration -- many players use Name That Color to help themselves with coloration. If you'd like to show exact colors, Woody Brown is an example for you. If your character has a varied pattern/coat, you can discuss it here. Don't forget to mention their eye color, either.

Regarding their fur -- is it thick or thin? Is the fur wiry or smooth, short or long, wavy or straight?

2.4  Modifications

  • Scars:
    • Location, description. How was it inflicted? Who inflicted it?
  • Tattoos:
    • A freeze branded[1] image of a swallow (resembling the style known to artist Sailor Jerry) can be found on his left side, near his chest. He acquired this marking with his consent, by a professional of the branding technique.
  • Piercings:
    • Location, description. How was it inflicted? Who inflicted it?
  • Other:
    • Location, description. How was it inflicted? Who inflicted it? Example: Missing toes or a chip in their ear? Do they dye any parts of their fur? Dyeing might be given its own section, if it occupies many parts of their fur.

2.5  Accessories

  • Necklaces? Outfits? How frequently does your character don this item?
  • A second outfit? Another necklace?

3.  Personality

After the tragic death of his only younger sibling, the youngest of his litter and his only sister to care over, Percival Teach remains introverted and seemingly apathetic. He often feels exceedingly guilty for the past accident (despite it being just that), and will separate himself from groups or activities to dwell on the feelings of remorse and depression. Percival can most accurately be described as acting, for the most part, emotionless, as his tone is primarily monotonous and his body language vague as to revealing his feelings. He much prefers to be alone, taking time from his day to sit and reflect on past actions, ideas for the future, or otherwise current stances. Percival feels awkward in large crowds, especially if pressured to act out or speak, and by doing so, he may become increasingly irritable. He is completely content in having only a few close peers that he can possibly open up to, but would more enjoy being a shoulder to lean on, or a friend to listen and give advice when it is needed. Percival feels that by lending an ear to those in grief or sorrow, he can make up for his carelessness and irresponsibility shown in his youth, particularly during the accident leading to his sister's passing.

3.1  Demeanor

Discuss how your character treats others here, and their general "presentation." Although less a defined appearance quality, think about the way your character presents him or herself -- are they open, outgoing, and social, or introverted, quiet, and aloof? Considering and jotting this down as part of their appearance can help you as you're roleplaying -- keeping this small but vital detail in mind can give you major clues as to how your character would act and present themselves in situations in terms of body language.

How do they react to certain situations -- newcomer at the borders, a stranger with bad attitude in the neutral territories, a lost puppy? Do they have a strong sense of right and wrong, or does their morality shift to accommodate the situation and their best interest? What motivates them, and what frightens them? What do they enjoy and what do they dislike? Although this is a lot to think about, considering these aspects can help you fully flesh out your character. It's helpful to make sure that aspects of their personality mesh well with their biography -- thus, try to think of a plausible reason why a character acts a certain way.

3.2  Outlook

Optimist/pessimist? Submissive/dominant? Introvert/extrovert? A character who is more introverted might cross his or her arms while talking or avoid eye contact more often. This can also assist others in “reading between the lines” of your posts. While you may not take the time to detail how your character presents him or herself every time they make a move, having a general idea stated in your profile can help players fill in the blanks if they don't know your character so well.

3.3  Ideals

Biases

Big Bias

  • Human Behaviors: How do they feel about human behaviors?

5.  History

Percival was cared for predominately by his mother and older siblings (consisting of two brothers) while his father hunted and worked to provide for the family. He was held responsible for looking after his one younger sister, Sybille Teach, and was blamed for her premature death after she had fallen into and drowned in the active stream of a nearby ravine. Out of guilt, he eventually became more distant from peers and family members as he grew older, keeping to himself and being self-isolated. After months of his anti-social behavior persisting, Percival ventured off away from his home with no particular quest in mind.
Soon, Percival came across Tobias Roche at a crowded shipping port, and became highly interested in the other's hopes of becoming a captain. Due to his curiosity toward Tobias and an impulsive urge to start life anew, Percival decided to join the other in his endeavors. Percival started as a cabin boy, growing closer to Tobias in doing so. He had made himself an active listener to Tobias, being present during the captain's grief and lending advice when plausible, despite his typical avoidance of social interactions with practically anybody else.
Percival Teach has committed his life to piracy and continuously supporting his only friend and captain, Tobias Roche, and does just that to this very day.
