Pasha Reis

by Nat

Pasha was born in the Turkish countryside to a family of farmers, however life on the farm wasn't the one he knew, instead Pasha mostly knows of life tethered to slavery. Captured and taken away from his family before he was a year old, Pasha changed hands many times as he found himself sold off to different masters. Eventually taken over the seas, Pasha found himself bought by who he believed would be his final master, only to be rescued at the last moment by a pack offering him a chance of freedom at long last.

  • Pasha is drawn to people but doesn't know how to make friends.

1.  Appearance

  • The thick skin and wrinkles, stocky and stout build, small folded ears and rounded muzzle all give away Pasha’s strong dog heritage. A mix of mostly shar-pei and terrier breeds, Pasha’s fur is very short and chocolate in tones, darker around his back and muzzle with lighter tones around his stomach. His eyes are a salmon pink, though often hard to even see under his large and drooping brow. There is a dusting of silver around his lips, typically an early sign of getting old but more likely from stress, given Pasha’s age.
Optime: 5 ft 7 in (170 cm) ↔ 220 lbs (104 kg)
  • Scars:
    • Pasha's right cheek has been marked with a brand of five straight lines. Due to the placement of this brand it hasn't healed well and the skin around the brand is often sore.

2.  History

Born in the Turkish countryside, Pasha was the son of a large farming family. Living off the land with a pride of their own self-sustain, all the Reis children were taught the tricks to nurturing the perfect crop. Like all children of a large family, Pasha sought out a way to feel more unique than his other siblings, deciding to see what recipes he could create from the family’s food supplies. Despite strict rules in the family to only eat when necessary, Pasha’s parents took a liking to his new hobby, suggesting a trip to Istanbul to see if they could trade for more supplies.

It was in the city where Pasha was separated from his parents, quickly caught by the slavers of the city and whisked away before his family had time to find him. Surviving as a slave would mean demonstrating useful skills, so Pasha leaned more towards cooking, knowing farming might be a risky choice. However, still young and lacking in experience, the boy wasn’t actually that good of a cook. He learnt through experience, under the cruel hands of those who bought him, perfecting his cooking to avoid punishment. Pasha changed hands a few times, until eventually being shipped over to America, where his owner found a fatal encounter and Pasha was captured once again. Though what he thought would be the final time he was made a slave, whilst true, ended in a way Pasha didn't expect. With the help of a pack to rescue him and others, Pasha has finally regained his freedom and a chance to grow that he'd longed for.

3.  Personality

  • Outlook: Idealistic
  • Sociability: Introverted
  • Expression: Submissive
  • Alignment: Neutral Good

CARING, THOUGHTFUL, CALM

  • Before being caught, Pasha was a well-mannered child, a cheeky streak befitting a youngster as well a bit of Pasha’s own natural cunning. He was clever and would often weave words to trick his siblings or convince his parents to take his side. As a slave, Pasha kept those traits, but bent them to work around his masters, remaining extremely polite whilst secretly manipulating them in subtle ways to keep him out of trouble. Soft-spoken but very thoughtful, Pasha will often say little but mean a lot, used to hiding his emotions far away to avoid potential harm.

It is clear he lacks a lot of trust in others, but there is a longing in his eyes to feel close to people again, sharing his food with them not out of necessity but out of care. A calm life, tending to crops and cooking good food, is all Pasha has wanted since being taken from his home.

  • Likes: Gardening, cooking, friends, fresh air
  • Dislikes: Slavery, dark rooms, bugs

4.  Skills

  • Cooking (Expert)
What kept him useful to his various masters, Pasha has gone from being interested in cooking to an expect in making a meal, knowing all sorts of recipes to bring out the most in his food. Without the pressure of needing to make things perfect to avoid punishment, Pasha is now able to make food from the heart, arguably allowing his food to taste even better to those who get to try it.
  • Farming (Journeyman)
Having been raised by a family of farmers, Pasha knows a good amount on looking after crops, with a few select homes he'd been sold off to also using his ability to grow. Whilst not used to working in the colder weathers of Nova Scotia, Pasha is determined to rekindle his love of farming to provide new sources of food for Casa to last them year round.
