Palo by Abby

Paloma Rovira is a dog from Eivissa. She came to 'Souls in the Summer of 2017 and, having decided to be friends with Abigail Sadira, settled in Cour des Miracles. The Summer of 2018 saw some monumental changes for Palo - she found herself guardian of a blind youth and her brother Halcón came to join her in the Court.

2. Personality

Once an idealistic youth on Eivissa who longed for adventure and freedom from familial duty, Paloma has grown into a stubborn, somewhat cynical and ambitious adult. She can come off as cold or aloof, even absent on occasion, and it's rare for her to let others in fully. She's not afraid to tailor her words and actions to her audience in order to get where she wants to be - which is wherever she sees a chance to better her own standing and maintain her own security in the world. There are few she treats to any genuine affection but those who do glimpse this side of her will find her a loyal and sometimes overzealous friend and guardian.

Since The Winter of Tarnished Gold Paloma has set her sights on helping to better and strengthen the Court in her own way and in the Summer of 2018 she agreed to act as an extra pair of eyes and ears for Kalypso Savoy beyond the Kingdom's borders.

Key Relationships

Cidro Amato de la Peña is a boy who turned up on the borders one Summer day, who stirred some long-forgotten maternal feelings in Paloma and who she took under her wing in spite of her wariness. He's one of very few people she'll openly treat to affection.
Halcón Rovira is the elder brother who went off travelling, leading the life Paloma thought she very much wanted to lead. He tracked her down in the Summer of 2018 after hearing of her mate's demise. There's a mixture of envy, suspicion and a lot of love between them.

Positive Relationships

Kalypso Savoy seems to understand Paloma's ambition and honesty, and Paloma has respected Kaly from early on. She was pleased when Kalypso became Reine and is keen to please her.
Abigail Sadira is someone who Paloma was initially drawn to - but the dog quickly became disillusioned with Abigail's idealistic and soft nature, which Paloma sees as weakness.

5. History

perder un juego - LASKY history thread
Paloma was betrothed to the heir to the Serra family at a young age. Despite initially disliking Alanzo, the Rovira girl eventually warmed to him and even fell in love with him. They managed his work for the family and Eivissa as a whole together, and had dreams of sailing off into the big wide world. Alanzo was murdered in the Spring of 2017, prompting Paloma to flee Eivissa. She eventually ended up in 'Souls.
