1. Appearance
1.1 Essentials
BasicsOriana is a Texas Plains Coyote and Belgian Malinois hybrid, but she looks much more like a dog at a glance, with a very muscular build. Only narrow muzzle and large ears mark her out as a hybrid on closer inspection. She weighs more than is normal for a female of her height because she is so muscular. The looks very much like her Belgian Malinois mother dominate her coloration, with the classic fawn coat and dark mask. Her father’s coyote heritage is evident in a black tail tip and a dusty gray, V-shaped line across her back. Which starts in narrow points just behind each of her shoulder blades then thickening until it reaches the center of her back. Beautiful blue eyes can be deceptively soft and sweat, often lulling others into a false sense of security. Her time is almost exclusively spent in Optime form, and it shows in the care she takes with her appearance. Her hair is kept short to make sure it can’t be used against her while fighting, but her clothing is where her personality really shines through. Long sleeved button-ups, waistcoats, and dark pants are the most common, though she will occasionally throw on a flannel shirt and jeans. Regardless of what she is wearing, her sword is always at her side, hanging from a soft, dark leather belt.

Interaction
- Speech: Oriana’s voice is husky and rough, which is only emphasised by her mild southern accent. She speaks Spanish, though not fluently, or well. Most of the time her voice is low and soft, if you’ve gotten her mad enough to raise her voice, you might as well just start running. Voice Mode is Eva Green as Artemisia in the movie 300: Rise of an Empire.
- Scent: Her scent is made up of hints of smoke, whiskey, and leather, as well as that of her horses.
- Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Resting hand on pommel of sword, tucking thumbs in belt loops, leaning agianst things
- General Posture and Body Language: She always moves in an easy, relaxed fashion, a hallmark of her easy going nature. This same calm, self assured way of moving easily masks how deceptively fast she can move.

2. Personality
She is used to following other’s lead, not being a very dominant person, but is not truly submissive either. A perfect example of an easy going, generally calm woman, she does have quite a temper once riled up. Some of this is that she doesn’t express emotions often, or very well. Courteous and respectful to a fault, she is usually willing to help out other women, particularly against men. Pups, on the other hand, are fascinating, but a little scary because she hasn’t been around them often. Oriana is eager to learn new things and teach what she knows to others. Part of this means being willing to experience new cultures, but religion is a sore spot for her, the only area where she does not try to learn more about. This is because of she doesn’t like to be reminded of her father, is very religious. Reminders of her mother and sister, on the other hand, are always welcome. Small, ’cute’ animals are one way to do that, especially cats, as her mother bred them. Ducks are the only traditionally cute animal she hates, because of her completely illogical fear of them. That fear is so strong she will not go within ten feet of a duck.

She is open other religions and would be perfectly willing to convert to the right one. 6. History
Alejandro Cavallo is the leader of one of the gangs that rule the outer parts of New Orleans. He was introduced to Jenny Burroughs by her father, a low-ranking gangster looking to gain favor using his daughter. His plan worked because his daughter was so beautiful, young, and eager to please. She becomes Alejandro’s mistress within weeks of that initial meeting, and quite enjoys being showered with gifts and attention. Jenny’s pregnancy was inevitable, but she was still surprised, especially by Alejandro’s joyous reaction. The birth of Oriana and her sister Maria was a greatly celebrated event, as was their baptism into the Catholic faith, at Alejandro’s insistence, three days later.
The pair of sisters were as different from each other as night and day, in both looks and personality. Oriana took after her mother, with the classic Belgian Malinois coloring and only hints of her father’s heritage. Maria, on the other hand, looked like their coyote father, with her mother’s warm brown eyes. Even when they were very young, it was easy to see their different personalities. Maria was extremely feminine, she loved helping her mother choose outfits, while Oriana loved to roughhouse and wrestle, as well as tagging along with her father as he ruled over his gang.
This preference for different parents only deepened once the pair began to shift, with Jenny beginning to teach Maria to be a true lady, while Oriana threw herself into learning to become a warrior and please her father. She moved into a ramshackle house along with about seven others, so that she could focus completely on her training. For the first few weeks, the group’s instructors focused on building up their strength and endurance, as well as hand to hand. Once they were at an acceptable level of fitness, their instructors split them into two groups, the fast, who would learn how to use daggers, and the strong, who would become sword fighters. Oriana was the only female put into the second group, as she had already packed on quite a bit of muscle.
Learning how to use a sword was a revelation, Oriana had a natural aptitude for it, and learned quickly. Her male counterpart’s slight resentment had turned into admiration by the time their trainers were satisfied they wouldn’t kill themselves, helped along by the advice and help she offered freely. As the students entered a more advanced stage of training, the began to have more free time. Alejandro was aware of this and insisted it was used to learn how to ride a horse. Oriana did what he asked, attending the lessons he arranged in the afternoons, but her evenings were spent hanging out with her friends, at first just goofing off, but as they got older, they began to hit up bars.
Frequenting bars with her friends quickly became Oriana’s favorite way to relax after a hard day of training. They’d sit around a table, drinking and chatting, occasionally leaving with a one night stand. That was how her friends found out she was gay, one night she went home with a girl. None of them were shocked, but they agreed not to talk about it because Oriana didn’t want it to get back to her very religious father. All she wanted was to make him proud, and she knew he would freak out if he knew she was gay. So, she resigned herself to one night stands and secrets.
Oriana pushed past the stress of hiding her sexuality and focused on her training, progressing much more quickly than her classmates. However, she also worked hard in the extra lessons her father had arranged. She wasn’t a natural with a bow as she was with a sword, but she worked hard, and eventually became a competent hunter. Horses, on the other hand, became an unexpected passion. This passion even pushed her to learn a little low speech, so she could communicate with them more effectively.
Eventually, there was nothing more Oriana could learn from her instructors, and she chose to end her training and move back in with her parents. She was a year old at that point and could have easily gone to work for her father as an enforcer. Instead, she decided to ask her father to find someone who could teach her how to sword fight from horseback. Alejandro was proud of her for refusing to rest on her laurels and did one better. He bought her a beautiful black Andalusian mare, trained to be ridden into battle. Oriana quickly grew to adore the mare she named Caeli and trained relentlessly so that she could be worthy of her.
Moving back in with her parents didn’t affect her friendships with her former classmates or even their nightly bar trips. If anything, Oriana grew more wild and reckless because she could no longer escape her father’s constant criticism. She chose to blow off steam by partying with her friends and sleeping with any willing woman. It was inevitable that one of her father’s gangsters would see her, and tell Alejandro. She was lucky, it took nearly six months after she moved back for her father to discover she was gay.
For a few days, Oriana wasn’t even aware he knew. Eventually, the limbo came to an end, as Alejandro confronted her with his knowledge, but she refused to deny who she was any longer. So he put into action the plan he had been forming for the past several days. He had gotten his daughter a job as a guard for a caravan headed east, and insisted she take all of her belongings and leave, never to return. Oriana agreed to avoid violence and said goodbye to her mother and sister as she packed up her belongings. Jenny insisted on giving her a thin braided gold ring, while Maria gave her a simple silver crucifix, to remember them by.
Almost before she knew it, Oriana was miles away from the only home she had ever known. She could have collapsed into turmoil and self-hatred, but instead, she threw herself into protecting the caravan, even making friends with some of them. It’s one of these new friends, an old male wolf called Basil, who tells her about a new, thriving trade city, Portland. His descriptions of the area proved so enticing, that by the time the caravan had reached its destination in Norfolk, Virginia, she had decided to go there. When Basil learned of her intentions, he asked her to take him with her so he could rejoin his family. Oriana agreed in exchange for an older, bay gelding, named Magnus. The two unlikely travel companions left a few weeks later after Basil had finished his trading.
The two meandered along slowly, following the coast and Basil’s memory. Occasionally they’d join up with a caravan or pack for a few days or weeks, but never for very long. By the time the pair reached Portland, it was three months later. They quickly tracked down Basil’s family farm, and he reunited with his family. He kept his end of the bargain, giving Magnus, plus some of his family’s home-brewed whiskey, to Oriana. The pair parted ways on friendly terms, as Oriana set up camp just outside the city. There she stayed for a few weeks, relaxing and letting her horses recuperate from their long journeys. It’s during this time that she hears about the area called Souls, and the many packs who call it home. She decides to go on one last journey and heads north, hoping to find a home.
