Narexis Blackjack

Narexis has always preferred to be unassuming and to blend into the background; never one to speak her mind, never one to stand up for herself, always wearing conservative clothing. The quiet life had always suited her, and yet that was not what she ended up with.

Whether it was love or because it was expected for her, she agreed to become mates with Dino Blackjack, late September 2014. He wasn't a bad man, but one who was often a victim to his impulses and a need for more in life than what he had. Betting and gambling were soon a constant in her life, always wondering if he'd come home beaten up, if there'd be someone banging at her door, demanding something he'd promised some random stranger. Despite all of that, it wasn't always bad - when they weren't running from promises made in the moment, they were happy, they were trying for children, although that didn't seem to be in the cards to them. No matter how hard they tried, Narexis never fell pregnant.

And then Dino's gambling stated up, her mate betting the one thing he thought he'd never have in jest; his first born child. Not a week later, Narexis broke the news to him that she was pregnant, unaware of the bet that had been made. Believing no one had taken his bet seriously, Dino stayed quiet, even after the birth of their one daughter, Kydite. No, he didn't mention the bet until one night, whilst he was out doing what he did, there was a knock on the door, strangers barging in and stealing her daughter, knocking her out in the process.

Given a choice: to join and fight for them, after which her daughter would be released, or to refuse and have her daughter sold to slavery, Narexis agreed to fight for a cause she didn't believe in.
