Meridia Lykoi was born on November 11, 2015 of Azucena Lykoi and Locke Salvato just outside of Mortimer alongside her three other siblings: Rue Salvato, Hemlock Salvato, and Namira Lykoi. In early 2016, her mother traveled with her and her siblings to Portland where they made a home for themselves. Eager to be of some use to her family, Meridia took up her own 'job' in June of that year as a cook in training for the Cooks' Den to earn her family's right to use the kitchen so that they could prepare the meats that her brothers hunted for.

She also did other small jobs here and there to earn profits where she could, such as trading some of the meat that she prepared in the Den's kitchen to the owner of the Cooks' Den as well as trading and and preparing wagons for other traders. In November of 2016, she met her brother Till Van Ulrich-Lykoi, a member of pack named Salsola in the Nova Scotia, a distance from where she and her family now lived. Still rather young, she wanted to stay near her family for as long as she could.

In mid 2017, Meridia parted ways with her mom and siblings so that she could see the world and find a life elsewhere. She left in route to 'Souls Territory with just a horse she'd traded for and an idea of where to go from there. She eventually returned to Portland during the summer of 2018, where she began to get real close with her siblings.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics


  • Species: Meridia is probably the most Coyote-looking out of her siblings. She has a slim, angular face with large ears like a Coyote and her body is on the slimmer side.
  • Fur: She inherited the thin, course Coyote fur of her father.
    • Optime Hair: Meridia's optime hair is a blend of her own two primary colors and is medium-long. Reaches just beyond her shoulders when loose. It holds some curls but is overall rather straight.
  • Facial Features: Slim, angular face with large ears following her Coyote heritage.
  • Build and Size: Meridia's size is on the smaller side, thought to be due to the pygmyism that runs in her maternal family. While she isn't tiny, she's much smaller than her other siblings, but has a lean body type and a confident demeanor to make up for her height. Meridia is missing half of her tail; it was accidentally cut off during a sparring session between Meridia and Namira.
  • Humanization: Medium — Meridia is somewhat humanized. While she enjoys being free of clothes, she values the way they look and make her feel. She is prone to wearing loose fitting clothes, rather than form fitting. Like a loose dress or baggy pants and a loose, almost too large, shirt.

While Meridia is moderately humanized, she prefers baggy clothes when she wears anything at all.

In this form, she is quite small, but also very swift. Without a great size or a heavy build, she can easily run faster than any of her siblings and can fit in tight spaces. However, due to her nature and upbringing, she only uses this form to hunt small game when she doesn't use her bow.

While still quite stunted in height, Meridia is almost always found in this form. In Portland, she works with her hands and needs to be in this form often. She only ever shifts down to hunt or travel long distances, though she does have a horse for that, too.


  • Speech: Somewhat high pitched, yet feminine. Not as annoying as it might sound. Probably sounds like Evangeline Lilly.

    • Hates when anyone talks about or underestimates her for her height

    • Her confidence was most likely picked up from her mother. Meridia walks with a confident gait, holding her shoulders up and is often opinionated and outspoken.

  • Clumsy due to her half of tail, Meridia can be clumsy at times.
  • People-Pleaser. Meridia likes to be praised for the work she does for others, and can get offended if she is not appreciated.
  • Vain. She knows she's beautiful, and sometimes it goes to her head. She can also be a huge flirt in the company of someone she likes.
  • Smarty Pants. Meridia picks up on skills quickly, and is almost always eager to learn something new.

Despite being introduced to Vampirism at a young age, Meridia was mostly raised with an absence of specific religions in her life, so she doesn't follow any specific ones unless she picked one up on her own.

  • Namira Lykoi is the closest sibling to her. When she returned to Portland during the summer of 2018, they really began to get close. When Namira was faced with challenges in the following year, Meridia was at her side, ready to help her through them. When her sister was killed and her pups kidnapped, Meridia was distraught and still is. She's made it a personal goal to someday return to Nova Scotia and track down her sister's murderer and her neices/nephews' kidnapper and give him a taste of his own medicine.

4.1  Abilities

Cooking and Food Preparation

  • Education and Learning: Meridia took up a cooking job in Portland where she learned from other canines of equal status how to cook, clean and prepare food.
  • Meats (Master): She learned how to cut meat and how to add it into different dishes. This includes seasonings that one normally wouldn't think of.
  • Baking (Master): There were always orders for different kinds of foods that include baked items like bread and pies. She got quite good at it.
  • Tea Preparation (Journeyman): She makes a wickedly awesome tea.
  • Meat curing and preparation (Master): Years of cleaning, skinning and curing the hides and meat that her brothers bring and that which the head-cook brought have taught her all about this.
  • She is set in her ways after working at the Cooks' Den for so long and while she definitely could learn some new skills regarding cooking, for the most part she doesn't strive to learn anything new since cooked items aren't necessarily a necessity but a privilege.
  • She only uses a few select herbs when making a tea and hasn't shown much interest in learning the different herbs that can have a good effect on one's health.
  • She doesn't hunt for her own meat, or she didn't before she left, so it's a new skill yet to be earned.


  • Education and Learning: How else does one earn their share of riches? She's extroverted and friendly. People like her, despite her short height. She learned how to trade from her mother and some of the traders in Portland. She continues to use these skills to earn food along her route through Nova Scotia and the better parts of the area known for trade.
  • Charisma (Master): She's got natural charisma so she uses it to make the trade worthwhile and to get others in on the trade.
  • Bartering (Master): You have to haggle others when trade is being used for skill. Most people only look after themselves and not the people they're trading to. She's good at noticing a bad trade and will turn it down in a heartbeat or haggle with the other trader will they give a better price for wares and items.
  • Skill trading (Journeyman): When you don't have much but your horse and the food on your back, what better way is there to trade than with your skills? She knows how to tan hides, cook and trade. Why not use these skills to better her life?
  • She can lose a trade easily with trying to haggle someone who won't come down off their high horse. She likes to be praised to and isn't afraid to turn a trade down. SO... Even though she's a good trader, she loses a lot of clientele due to them not backing down and her not taking their grief.

5.  History


Meridia was born in Mortimer, but transported to Portland at a very young age. She doesn't remember much - if anything - about Mortimer. Any attempts at asking about it would have been shunned or ignored. Her whole life up until this point would have revolved around cooking, preparing, trading, and odd jobs here and there for some kind of profit. She knows that she has a brother in Nova Scotia as she has met him before while he was visiting Portland.


  • November: Meridia was born alongside her siblings in Mortimer.


  • March: Her mother took her and her siblings from Mortimer and they traveled a long distance before stopping at a port in Maine. Portland became her permanent home shortly after. While her and her siblings were too young to travel long distances (other than for emergency: they were lucky that time), the small family settled down in Portland and started falling into the groove.
  • June: Meridia officially took up her own 'job' in Portland. She worked in the Cooks' Den, preparing the meat that her brothers hunted for their family. For use of the den, she also traded some of the meat she made to others, to the owner.
  • November: Meridia meets Till van Ulrich-Lykoi during his visit to Portland.


  • August: Meridia travels from home to Nova Scotia to journey through the area and find a new life.
