1.  Characteristics

1.1  Appearance

Physical

Kasumi is an obvious, hybrid mix through and through. Even so, however, she may be easily mistaken to be more coyote-blooded than not, especially to those who have never seen a jackal before. She has a thin snout, almond eyes, and sharp facial features. Her ears are somewhat on the larger side, and are much more pointed than they are rounded. Thanks to her mixed blood, her fur is medium in length and it is more trim and sleek than a wolf or coyote's. So, while she cannot handle extreme hot or cold temperatures, she has a solidly decent tolerance to them when compared to her more pure-blooded ancestors. She has a lean, flexible, athletic figure with subtle muscle toning thanks to hours honed beneath her mother and her various other mentors' tutelage in combat, stealth, and acrobatic training.

In her four-legged forms, Kasumi has a notably agile, tapered figure best suited for speed, agility, and scouting pursuits. She stands on the smaller side, and, as such, is somewhat wary of using the forms in unfamiliar territory. When in Optime, Kasumi wears simple, typically dull and/or dark-colored clothing that is some what loose-fitting and is either masculine or androgynous in style. Her hair is straight and presently kept in a shoulder-length style that can be easily put up.

As a child, Kasumi had always been a rather quiet individual, more comfortable with observing the going-ons around her than she was to jump into the thick of things, especially during social interactions. This often gave the impression of her being either meek or shy despite her otherwise curious and confident nature exhibited elsewhere. She was a pup that was reluctant to trust, and only, truly, opened up to others upon gaining a strong bond with them.

Matured, Kasumi hasn't changed much, however, previous perceptions of her being "shy" have since given way to someone that is simply reserved, if, sometimes, a bit cold. Although confident and driven, her upbringing and knowledge of her family's roots humbles her and keeps her grounded. She is observant, calculating, and perceptive, and it is the combination of all of these traits that have allowed her to excel as an apprentice to her mother's work.

Perhaps not surprisingly, she often maintains a neutral but respective air about her. With strangers or mere acquaintances, Kasumi often strives to maintain a more diplomatic or business-like mask. Occasionally, however, flashes of her true self—in the form of a tease, sarcasm, or other feisty commentary—may slip through her careful façade. When she genuinely trusts someone, she may be more expressive with her emotions and open with her thoughts. The more comfortable she is, the more her initially-frosty demeanor will fall away.

Kasumi has developed her mother's silent and stealthy grace, as well as her cunning talent in espionage. She is quite brave and confident as an individual, and is, undeniably, she is her mother's daughter.

Description:

Cedar is a handsome stallion of Mustang ancestry. He’s of a rather plain, bay dun coloration, something that, to one without an eye or care for detail, may make him an easily forgettable or an otherwise unimportant/noticeable looking horse. He has a rich, pure-black mane where his tail has lighter hints of brown faded throughout it. Primitive markings, such as the black dorsal mark, faint striping on his legs, and tipping of his ears are the few features that really set him apart from an average-looking brown horse. He also has one foot that has been dipped in white.

Personality:

Cedar is a generally tolerant and quiet horse who is very mindful of his feet and body, making him rather ideal for someone going on missions and sorties that require stealth. He’s not the most affectionate horse (and often comes off as being quite aloof), but is not opposed to receiving affection by those he is comfortable with. He doesn’t overly react to a lot of things, seeming to be quite tolerant of sounds, movement, or new things, however, he may be cautious of them. He is a very vigilant horse, and seems to be pretty intelligent when interacting with his environment.
He is not easily spooked, though, he is wary of those he does not know. With strangers, it is best to approach him with Kamari present, otherwise, he will be sure to maintain a certain distance, and, if chased, may turn and fight. He will watch someone and “judge” them until either reassured by Kamari, or, he deems them to not been an immediate threat.
His polite, well-mannered, and calm nature is the reason he still remains an intact stallion. It is thought that he has low testosterone levels.

History:

Born and raised by a breeder who lived close to Portland. The breeder was an individual who once specialized in scouting and trail horses for a pack, leaving Cedar to be in good hands in his youth. He was socialized young and trained with specific quirks and skills that his original buyer requested. The deal between the breeder and buyer went south though when it came to finally hand Cedar off, and, to spite the man and to keep him from trying to steal the horse, the breeder had every intention to kill Cedar.
Heine Kaiser had shown interest in the breeder’s available stock over the course of a few months prior when he had been searching for a gift for his daughter, Kamari. When Heine came to pick out a horse though, the breeder decided to trade Cedar to Heine, having grown fond of the father, and deciding that he didn’t want to kill a “good horse” if someone could benefit from the years he had spent training Cedar. An exchange of goods was made, and Cedar was brought back to Salsola, where he was gifted to Kamari in early May 2018.
Upon coming under her ownership, Kamari has worked tirelessly with Cedar, gaining his trust and his confidence and loyalty to her. He was Kamari's main mount and beloved companion for years. In April 2023, however, Kamari was sent on a mission that would take her to Europe for an unforeseeable amount of time. Being unable to bring him along for the voyage, Kamari trusted his care to her daughter, Kasumi Revlis, who was forced to stay behind in Salsola. Cedar was Kasumi's main mount while his daughter, Aspen, was still training; after such a time, however, he became one of two mounts for Kasumi, often used interchangeably with Aspen for long-distance missions or missions that required extra gear.

History:

Son of Emissary Kamari Kaiser's raven, Bones, he was hatched in spring 2023. Although moderately trained by Kamari and her apprentice, Mirko Morandi, and their personal raven familiars, Fishbone spent most of his days amongst a local raven flock that Bones, Fig, and Plum were a part of. He was chosen by his mother to be Kasumi's raven familiar upon reaching one year of age.

These chickens are a hardy, northern variety, and are both good for their meat or their egg-laying abilities. They are best compared to modern Plymouth Rock Chicken and Rhode Island Red Chickens for nearest comparison. The chickens are free-range, though, do not wander close the forests that surround the couple’s home or the lake. They are protected by a single rooster. They are not an overly loud or troublesome group (they’re rather docile unless they find a snake or rodent) and are rather good at keeping the homestead pest-free.
