Kasia is not what would be called a stereotypical female. She belongs more to an enviroment that requires sturdyness and hard work rather than delicacy and kindness. Usually cold and even plainly rude, she finds peace mostly when left alone to her thoughts, especially when there she has her favourite tools at hand. She is a blacksmith and also competitive, which may show in the suddden sparkle of enthusiasm when faced with a challenge. Especially if her reputation is at stake.

In the other hand, she can be lenitent when asked for favors, especially if asked by his travel mate Yari. If she is in a good mood, and currently not working on anything important, she may accept company, even shredding some of her apathy to openly have a conversation with her packmates, and to a lesser extent, with strangers.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

  • Species: Coyote
  • Fur: Her fur is short but very thick, especially during cold months, during which it gets tangled easily.
    • Optime Hair: It is short and cut into a mohawk style, longer near the nape but shorter as it gets closer to the head. The reason of this is because she works near fire and doesn't fancy smelling of burnt hair, while she keeps the longer strands for her performances with Yari (the shorter hair is covered by a leather mask).
  • Facial Features: Her face is thin, with delicate features which almost constantly bare a frown. Her eyes are oval and small, both leaning towards the center of the face.
  • Build and Size: She makes up for her short height whith her brawny complexion, her torso, shoulders and forearms are well toned and slightly wider than usual. This adds to the way she carries herself. Usually confident, but not very concerned of the outside world. How about Optime?
    • Lupus: In her lupus form she does not look much different from a normal coyote, probablu with a wider chest, but otherwise nothing unusual.
    • Secui: In this form she does not grow much in height as she does in width. Her legs look short but sturdy and her neck and shoulders powerful. However, the hipbone does not grow equally in musculature, and although it is easy for her to climb up steep terrains while running, she finds it hard to run at top speed when heading downwards.
    • Optime: Having spent most of her life yielding heavy tools, she has developed a body with the form of an inverted triangle. Her heritage did not come from a particularly curvy female so her curves aren’t very perceptible. In fact, his phenotype resembles a male’s rather than a female’s. Seen from the front, her hips look wider in the zones where the fur is thinner, and a pair of small breasts adds balance to the otherwise masculine body.
  • Humanization: She now depends mostly on human tools and feels unconfortable when deprived of them. She can still hunt on all fours, but usually finds it easier to set traps and use rudimentary spears or knives to hunt most of her food. She also wears light clothing when she's not smithing, but when she is, she uses heavier attires for protection.

    • Her fur is mainly tan in color.
    • A shade of dark gray covers the joint between her neck and shoulders, and part of her spine .
  • Markings:
    • All her legs have sock markings, very light in color (papaya whip).
    • Her lips are light gray, as well as her cheeks, the inner part of her ears and her belly.
    • She has a stripe of Saddle brown parting from her nose and covering almost all the top of her muzzle.

Modifications

  • Scars:
    • Several minor scars in her hands, cuts and burnts. The fur in the tips of her fingers is almost completely burnt off.
    • Two major burnts in her right forearm, one is oval in shape, the other is longer and reaches up to her elbow

Adornments

Even though she embraces a more or less human lifestyle, her adornments are scarce. She prefers not to modify her appearance or add more to it if it is not necessary. Sometimes she may not wear anything, though, but she is more likely to use the following whenever she is encountered.

In her mind, silence is the equivalence of being forgotten, of not existing, and sometimes it is a lot to bear for her. That's why she mumbles to herself when she is alone, to avoid feeling uneasy. She will go to the extent of talking long walks during the night when everybody else is asleep, just to soothe herself with the sound of her paws against the ground.

4.  Skills and Inventory

4.1  Abilities

Crafting

  • Education and Learning: Both her mother and father were crafters of some sort. His father was a blacksmith and could work with leather too, while the mother knew some basic wood carving. She learned a little from both and then perfectiones her techniques on her own.
  • Blacksmithing (Master): She is able to craft many goods from old metal and ore. Her knowledge on different kinds of metal is wide, if not vast, and she can craft many things such as blades, arrow tips, spear ends, hammer heads, briddle mouthpieces, nails, swords, chains, and many other things.
  • Leather work (Journeyman): She can work leather, and produce harnesses, straps or clothing, either plain or adorned with simple shapes. However, she is yet to learn how to correctly prepare a pelt for leatherwork.
  • Jewelery (Apprentice): She has no problem making the molds for the pieces, but to handle them is another thing.
  • Her fine motor skills aren't the best compared to her ability to craft bigger objects. Small trinkets take her the longest to do because of this.

Survival skills

  • Education and Learning: Her mother had a more feral lean before getting to know her father, so, when she was younger, she taught the little girl the basics to survive in the wild, both in feral form and in optime form.
  • Hunting (four legs) (Master): Although out of practice, she is cabable of pursuing and bringing down small game on her own.
  • Hunting (two legs) (Apprentice): She has little knowledge on weaponry, and she is not especially skilled at keeping a low profile in optime form.
  • Setting traps (Journeyman): Most of te time her traps are successful when catching preys of any size. It takes her time figuring out where to set them, though.
  • She dislikes lacking of her opposable thumbs and would rather resort to her optime form. So finding food with no resources would be a hard time for her.
  • She can't produce fire. Unless she counts with pedernal, she wouldn't be able to set on a fire.

Music

  • Education and Learning: Upon meeting Yari she showed an interest on his ability with music, and he agreed to teach her what he knew. He was very strict in his teachings, so she had to learn fast. Up to date, she still practices as often as she can.
  • Playing the drums (Apprentice): She has learned to play plenty of rhythms and can do it well. However, she can't play for more than a minute before getting exhausted, nor can she play too fast without needing a rest within a few seconds. She is still perfectioning those details, though.
  • Dancing (Apprentice): Yari is also teaching her how to dance, and she has way more endurance when performing this way than with the drums.
  • Her lack of grace and sturdy body do not grant her the ability to do many moves without a certain grade of clumsiness. She can put a performance, but it is hard for her to make the movements look aesthetic.

4.2  Residence

    Kasia lives in the room 11 in the second floor of D'Neville Mansion with Yari. The room is simple and has nothing but a couple of bags with Kasia's tools, clothes and Yari's drum. They sleep in makeshift beds made out of pelts and cloth, shaped as nests.

  • Bay mare. She's a cart horse, so her conformation is sturdy. She has a very stable temperament around lupercis and other horses. Her training only covers riding, with no experience in cart pulling or sowing.

She is available for trade. Most of the time, she accepts physical objects in exchange, but under special circumstances she could skip the immediate payment, and instead ask for favors if she needs to.

2011

  • 05 May: She was born to Clover and Sebastian, her parents, among another male called Aleksey.
  • 07 Dec: She shifted for the first time. At this point, her competitive personality was already formed, and she felt a bit thrown back when her father took her brother and not her as a disciple.

2012

  • 15 Jan: Sebastian took Kasia as a disciple as well into blacksmithing.
  • 20 Dec: Kasia meets Yari for the first time.

2013

  • 27 Mar: Her friendship with Yari grows and she asks him to be his teacher in music in exchange of shelter and food.
  • 01 Oct: She leaves her house to go to live with an older brother, already tired of the lack of recognition that her father and brother showed of her work due to her gender.

2014

  • 26 Mar: She leaves Freetown with Yari and both head towards the north.
