1.  Summary

Jayce was born in Casa di Cavalieri to Cedric Stryder and Kai Wolfe-Denahlii on 11 February, 2023. She was one of four in the litter, and has many older siblings, too. She is currently in the Puppy rank and is spending time exploring and annoying getting to know her pack mates. Also she chews on things.

2.  Appearance

2.1  Basics

  • Species: Jayce’s heritage includes various dog breeds like shepherd, husky, Irish setter, and rough collie, along with several types of wolf. Her dog genetics are obvious in her markings and ginger coat color.
  • Fur: Jayce's puppy fur is soft and plush. Her back is a medium brown, fading through ginger shades, ending on her shoulders and partway down her hind legs. Her underside and the end of her tail are light grayish white. As she's growing, Jayce's fur is starting to get longer with her tail and legs being the most obvious spots.
    • Optime Hair: —
  • Facial Features: Dark brown fur appears on the tips and sides of her ears and under her eyes while her muzzle, eyebrows, and around her eyes are light grayish white. The ginger shades go from the top of her head, around on her cheeks and ends almost at her nose. Her nose and pawpads are a dark grayish brown. Jayce's eyes are beginning to change from puppy blue to green.
  • Build and Size: Jayce is currently heading towards the 90% legs and oversized paws phase of being a puppy.
    • Lupus: xx lbs (xx kg) -- xx in (xx cm)
    • Secui: xx lbs (xx kg) -- xx in (xx cm)
    • Optime: xx lbs (xx kg) -- xft xin (xx in / xx cm)
  • Humanization: Since she can't shift, Jayce doesn't have a way to do much humanization, although she does like wearing necklaces even though she's at a high risk of losing them. If it's too tight or similar to a collar, she'll probably try to chew it off, though.

3.  Personality

3.1  Overview

Like many puppies, Jayce is always interested in seeing what’s going on, wanting to smell (and chew on... or roll in...) everything she finds. With how easy the first two months of her life have been, she has a fearless streak in her that is probably going to get her in trouble someday. And a naughty streak. If she’s not supposed to chew on it, she probably is. As she’s been able to move around more, she’s gotten into increasing amounts of mischief. There's also a probably annoying level of barking.

Jayce’s attention span is not great and she’s easily distracted. Movement? Shiny? Smells awful? Distractions, all of it. She can also be a little impatient and somewhat easily frustrated, which she’s still learning to express without using her very sharp puppy teeth. When she’s tired, she gets a little cranky and is more likely to nip instead of using her words. That will stop at some point... probably.

She likes to try new things, which is happening more and more often now, especially when she follows big sister Tegan around. With almost everyone she comes across, Jayce wants to ask questions. What are they doing? Why are they doing it? Can it be eaten? She’s just starting to learn what the body language for ‘go away’ looks like, so she may sometimes overstay her welcome. Jayce also likes to wrestle with anyone who wants to, and sometimes attempts to wrestle with pack mates who don’t want to, which goes back to understanding the ‘go away’ posture.

She is very expressive, making her emotions obvious. Most often, she’s open and friendly, but teeth will flash when she’s angry, and body language will scream scared when she’s frightened. Jayce also thinks she's a lot sneakier than she actually is. (Read: she's not. At all).

Jayce was born in a litter of four puppies. She has no real memories from the time soon after that; mostly she remembers feelings of warmth and safety. Sometimes a little bit of a chill, but it didn’t last long. Then sounds and brightness.

As she became more mobile, she became more mischievous. Anything from attempting to tussle with siblings even if she was told not to, to somehow getting her mouth (and teeth) on things she shouldn’t have. This sometimes includes her family members’ tails. When she wasn’t getting into any trouble she could find, she enjoyed listening to stories and learning things from anyone who would teach her.

Tegan quickly became her favorite sibling. Although Jayce loved all of her siblings, she was too young to understand that being obvious about that sort of favoritism might not be a great thing. But really, Tegan is awesome!

As the winter melted into spring, Jayce’s exploration started getting a little further out from her home. There were new smells and also plants. Lots of plants. Most of them tasted pretty bad, though. And bugs! So many bugs to chase. Some of those tasted pretty bad, too. And one that somehow made a really awful stench! Gross. It made her wish she had hands so she could have brought it home. Now she’s ready to experience what else spring has to offer.
