Gwenninûr Coara
Overview | Thread Archive? | Forum Profile ⤴ |
Gwenninûr Coara (Gwen-nen-NUR Koh-AR-uh) is a member of Camp Eclipse, currently ranked as a Groundskeeper. She is the daughter of Medlihel and Rand Coara, along with his brothers: Lothric Coara and Lorien Coara. She is the oldest of the three siblings, born in Old Caledonia just a few months before fighting broke out, an event which would eventually lead towards the fall of the kingdom. Despite being born to a womanizer, her Taur mother gave her and her brothers their father's surname, not wanting them to fall into obscurity like their other half-silbings. As the realm fell, the family of four fled. Their mother solely raised the three of them, and as they grew older, were given the chance to expand upon their individual skills. Though they managed on their own for many years now, it all came to an end with the passing of their mother. With a need to relocate, at the will of their late mother, the three heard word of a place known as New Caledonia. Decision made, the three made their way to this new realm. Upon joining the ranks of New Caledonia, she tended to stick close to one of the current leaders at the time: Fennore. It wasn't too long afterwards that the three were reunited with none other than the folklore man who abandoned them in the first place, Rand. Not too much was known about him, aside from information given to them by their mother; although, this did little to impress Gwenninûr. Keeping mostly to her little family, it wasn't too long after this moment when she followed Fennore and her brother to the Citadel. She spent most of her time there, watching over her brother. With news making its way to the Citadel about the fall of New Caledonia, she's taken it upon herself to finally leave to find the brother that stayed behind. Currently, Gwenninûr has made her way back to the lands where New Caledonia once resided, searching for her brother. Whatever home they were looking for might have been gone, but at least this way they will have each other. |

Even though Gwenninûr is a wolf-dog like her brothers, she certainly gets her looks from her dog father. Her muzzle is much more narrow, unclear as to whether this was from the breeds from her father's side, or from her wolf mother. Her ears are longer and slightly curled, falling back more against her head than sticking up. Though her body physic is normal, she is the fluffiest of her siblings, especially along her cheeks and chest. Her tail is another big sign to her dog heritage, not even being fluffier than her brothers', but also curled up. She's a stark contrast to her siblings, borrowing some coloration from her father's side of the family. Most of her body is a gray color, other shades being what accent her fur. Spaces along her face, neck, back, arms, and legs are decorated with a mix of light and dark gray spots. The underside of her tail is light gray, while the very tip is darker gray. Her eyes are a bright blue. When in optime form, she sports long, light gray locks, matching the color of her lighter spots. As per her beliefs, she never cuts her hair. |
Clothing & Other |
Coming from a highly humanized place like the realm, Gwenninûr is always dressed in something. As is usual with people of Taur, she usually adorns herself with long, flowing robes. The only exception to this is when she is out with her bow, preferring tunics over the robes. In this same sense, she wears a few pieces of light armor, just in case. She doesn't often wear any accessories, choosing to let her clothing speak for her. When she does, it is usually dressing up her hair with trinkets that represent Nanin or Nín in some manner. |

Personality |
Ever since her youth, Gwenninûr has been an eloquent person. She's had her own way of speaking when it comes to being around her family, and those she doesn't know. She has always liked being the one in control of what is going on, be it in something as small as conversation, or with something much larger. She can be very persuasive when she needs to be. Along with being eloquent and persuasive, she is capable of being very manipulative. She has no qualms about taking such measures, especially when it comes to people she doesn't like, or even trying to get revenge on. Although there are different methods of manipulation, her favorite means of doing so is by the use of gaslighting. Playing around with someone's emotions is the best way to get at someone, and doing so in this manner allows her to keep the control of the person she's manipulating. If there's two things that go hand in hand with the underhanded nature, it's that she is both determined and stubborn. If someone has been able to earn her ire, or puts her mind to something, Gwenninûr is the kind of person to not to ever let it go. When it comes to certain changes in her life, or her stance on decisions, she is not about to let go of what she knows. It would take a lot for her to change her mind, though it is not impossible. Her views are the correct ones, and others should listen to her. When it comes to getting stuff done, there is no doubt that she will do whatever it takes to make sure it gets done. This is the same mentality that can be applied to taking care of problems/enemies. That being said, if someone is able to get in her good graces, she will be a very good and powerful ally. She can become open with her faith and talents. Even with her even tone, she can be "pleasant" to be around so long as anyone is willing to allow her to keep her level on control.

Biases
|
Sexuality Gwenninûr is asexual, having extremely little interest in not only the idea of sex, but romance on the whole. It doesn't help that one of her parents is a womanizer, seeming to turn to any pretty face he came across. The idea of turning into anything like him is disgusting. She is much more content to focus on her skills and faith rather than giving herself and her body to someone else. It would have to take a very special person to be able to break through enough for her to offer even small affection in return. Even then, it is not likely to grow much past that. |
Spirituality In part due to her home and her mother's upbringing, she was raised on Old Caledonia's beliefs and gods. Nanin and Nín are held in the highest regard, and even though she has a clear bias towards Nanin, she follows the practices of both. Despite spending time among members of New Caledonia, be it in their territory, or at the Citadel, it has done little to change her way of thinking, or accept the new gods into her system. She is at least willing to hear out differences in beliefs, but is very unlikely to accept them, or adapt them to her own. |
Substances She isn't the type to indulge in any kind of substances. She may break this stance when it comes to being with her brothers, but not much outside that. If there are any substances she favors, it is certainly drinking over smoking anything. |
Skills |
Note: Listed skills are those that the character has some significant talent or interest in to be noteworthy. Skills that have been mastered (and are best expressed as such) are marked. |
Main Focus: Ranger, Druid, Plant-Keeper
Not wanting to be useless to not only her mother, but also her brothers, she took her bow and arrow, learning quickly to use it for hunting. She was more than happy providing food for her family, though in her opinion they also needed to at least know how to fend for themselves. Where she had started with small prey, she allowed her skills to continue to grow to much bigger prey. There was no denying her accuracy is good, whether the target is moving or not.
Living without the protection of the realm left an understanding in knowing how to protect one's self. Because of her beliefs, she natural took to this selection. This was a huge matter of necessity, and as such, made sure her skills were at the very least up to par to ensure her brothers would be taken care of. If there ever came a time to where they were in danger, she could take care of the problem from afar. Due to traveling as a loner for most of her life, and not coming across too many troubles, her combative skills fell behind her hunting skills. Even so, she is willing to put in the effort to finding a better means to increase this skill.
As a self proclaimed druid of Nanin, the care of nature and plants in general became a great passion of her's. It helped that there was so much that plants could be used for, but with constantly being on the move, there wasn't much chance to be able to fully expand on these skills. This was changed once she had joined New Caledonia, as well as going to the Citadel. Having the chance to learn more about plants and gardening practices, she intends to put these skills to good use wherever she finds herself living.

Auxiliary Skills and Hobbies
Learning to read and write was a basic necessity for her and her brothers, as well as being part of the realm.
The idea of getting into poisons came as a combination of her manipulative personality, but also as a means of making her arrows more potent. Even though this is the case, she is careful about what effects they may have on the land, and what plants are poisonous as well. For this, it is not a primary focus, but something to study for specific use.
A skill more so out of practicality rather than interest. Seeing as the primary use of her bow is used for hunting, it only makes sense to know how to skin, and use the hides from animals. As a way, it is also a means of being respectful to those that walk Nanin's realm. She can't make complicated leatherworking pieces, but simple pieces as well as armor. Whatever she doesn't use will usually go to someone who can use the items better than you, or if there is a higher priority for someone else to have it for use.
Much like with poisons, studying which plants are used for healing is much more of a side focus compared to her primary skills. She knows basic first aid to deal with injuries, and while she is open to learning more to aid others, it's at her own time, not out of necessity.
