Gaston Trouillefou is a dog from Iron Mountain currently living as a loner.
The hierarchy and elitism of the packs in Iron Mountain never settled right with Gaston, who remained a loner throughout his life – first with his single mother, and then alone after her death in his third year. By then, Gaston had developed a reputation as a fierce fighter and voyeur, and both of these led to conflicts with young men and women eager to build their own stories. Though these were largely (more or less) harmless, an accidental death and false-accusation led Gaston to flee for fear of his life.
His travels brought him north, following the trail of traders. Along the way, he encountered those who recognized his surname – something which Gaston found delightful – and over time he learned of a “dog kingdom” somewhere in the Nova Scotia area. A chance encounter with members of Cour des Miracles introduced him to his "ancestral" homeland, where he soon settled. He spent a little over a year in the place, living and working alongside the pack's Majordomo Linden Aatte.
When L'hiver de l'Or Terni began, Gaston realized the danger he (another descendent of the founding King) might be in. Rather than take his chances and remain, he fled north.

3. History
During one long winter, a pair of loners crossed paths not far from Iron Mountain – and under the influence of a prosperous hunt and narcotics, conceived a litter of puppies. Unfortunately for the mother, by the time she realized this her short-term companion had continued on his way. Instead of chasing after him, Trixie decided to buckle down and do the work on her own. Only one of her children survived beyond his third month – Gaston.
Childhood as a loner separated Gaston from the hierarchy of the neighboring packs, though he was not ignorant of it. Youthful groups often crossed paths outside of their borders, though not always under friendly circumstances. With the assistance and support of his mother, Gaston and Trixie made a decent life for themselves. They never truly “settled” in any one place, and often spent most of their time in the forest west of Iron Mountain where hunting was easier. This self-reliance continued as Gaston matured, especially as his status as an outsider became increasingly notable to others coming into age. This was something of a double-edge sword; while many a rebellious girl sought him out for attention, this also brought the wrath of jealous would-be-companions sniffing around for trouble. Over time his reputation as a troublemaker became well known.
Trixie died during the summer of 2015, leaving Gaston alone for the first time in his life. It was not long after this that a group of coyotes from Selvaggia accused him of murdering one of their companions – a false claim – and drove him to flee Iron Mountain.
Gaston traveled northeast, stopping in places he came across but never staying very long. Over time he began to get recognition from his surname, something which had never really mattered much to him before. Following rumors and vague directions, he eventually made his way to Portland, and was then given more proper instructions as to reaching a “dog kingdom” that another Trouillefou supposedly founded. He soon enough arrived in Nova Scotia, and as his travels took him to the southern end of the peninsula, a group of Cour des Miracles members found him near their borders. Sure enough, they recognized his name – and confirmed the rumors Gaston had heard. Eager to finally make something of himself, and seeing an opportunity to settle properly, Gaston joined the Court his grandfather founded in October of 2016.
Too old to properly intergrate into a pack after so many years as a loner, Gaston floated without real purpose. He contributed enough to remain, and indeed worked to learn the history of his family with aid from Linden, but mostly he continued to do as he pleased. This would be the pattern for a little more than a year, when the Court was thrown into turmoil by the return of Mistral de l'Or. Realizing that his cousin was likely mad, and fearful that she would turn against him to further secure her own claim, Gaston decided to leave. He fled in early January 2018, traveling north and eventually settling in Amherst.
