About

Dinar Nekoza is a non-luperci dog and loner.

He was born in a part of Yugoslavia formerly known as Montenegro, between the mountains of Durmitor and Sinjajevina. His nameless pack-family was purely doggish and non-luperci, living in the mountains, free from the rot of humanized society - or at least that was how they explained the benefits of the lifestyle they upheld. The only times this pack approached their bipedal brethren was during summer season, when they would guard luperci' sheep and cattle as to fulfil their ancestral calling.

Dinar was a strong and sizeable yearling when a sickness swept trough his family. The uneducated dogs only understood that it was very contagious and sent their strongest away from the packlands, Dinar among them. Still, a bad winter sapped even them of strength, starved them until only one was left living. Dinar returned home, only to find that his pack had all perished.

Without anything to keep him in the mountains, the youth went to a place of legend, the big lake known as the Sea.

Dinar kept getting into trouble along the way, eventually getting so severely wounded that he was rendered incapable of hunting. On the brink of starvation, he was found by a pair of luperci returning from a pilgrimage, a husband and wife. The pair carried the dog with themselves to the littoral, feeding and tending to him as they travelled. Once in their seaside home the non-luperci's body got enough care to heal, and once strong enough Dinar swore himself to service under his two saviours.

This was how his years of blissful peace, good eating and fun company began. He became a protector and a respected individual despite his nature. As his saviours produced children, so did he swear himself to their service. The coming years and old age promised only more joy for the quadrupedal dog.

Then war came, spurred by the actions of the one to whom he owed a life dept. There was betrayal, followed by death, and despair that he could do naught but watch. He was sent away with the children to a nearby town, hopefully far enough to avoid the blood feud, but still a hired blade parted one of Dinar's charges from her little life. The dog could feel himself crumble under the weight of his own worthlessness.

Then one night, he caught one of the daughters sneaking away with her sisters' dowries. He attempted to stop her, but somehow he found himself boarding the same ship as she. He thought he could persuade her to turn back, but instead they travelled further away from those he was tasked to protect. Dinar told himself that was okay, for he couldn't keep them safe anyway.

What the male expected to be a brief dalliance until the child came to her senses turned into a year of travels and formation of a bond of pobratimstvo/posestrinstvo between the two. He was by his posestrina at all times, but as she experienced the joys if novelty, the older dog just retreated into his own head, turning more mistrustful and aggressive.

They came to New Brunswick in the dying days of winter, and still Dinar never left his charge's side, although his own discontent grew. It was thanks to him taking control at a key moment that they managed to join Del Cenere Gang. Still, he was restless, but too worried to abandon her.

It was only once Cent established herself in the Gang, made friends and got good rank that he decided to leave. He voiced his pride in her progress, but somehow that got his charge mad and they parted on bad terms. Still, once he left he couldn't return, for he began to realise that he should take his life into his own paws.

Nowadays, Dinar wanders the territories in search of purpose.
