Darcy Butler (DAAR-see BUHT-lur) is currently an Encender in Del Cenere Gang and the cNPC to Joaquin Rose-Morales.

They are the child of Séverin Butler and Rhoswen Hughes, born alongside sisters Bellamy Butler and Devereaux Hughes. Born second of the trio, Darcy is the middle child. Much like his sister Bellamy, Darcy is affected by double merle, a mutation causing blindness and complete deafness in his left eye and ear. While is affliction is not as severe as his sisters, he had to learn to adapt from a young age, understanding that threats coming from his left side could but him at a serious disadvantage.

Though born biologically female, upon reaching maturity Darcy felt more comfortable identifying as a masculine individual, preferring masculine or gender neutral pronouns and intentionally lowering their voice. While not all may fully understand or accept this preference, most of the Butler and Hughes family were accepting of Darcy's decision and portrayal of himself.

Growing up in Portland and with a tight-knit family granted Darcy with many opportunities in the way of hobbies and other interests. Though many Butlers focused in fields such as fishing, religion, or fighting, Darcy found a passion for diplomacy and conversation. They are educated, able to read and write in English and well as speak some French. Despite the religious affiliation of their family, Darcy considers himself an atheist.

Eventually the desire to seek out a life of their own caused them to leave their home in Portland and travel around as a loner for some time. While they struggled initially being away from their sisters and family, they found comfort in socializing with others and drifted toward areas with higher populations. Once a frequent visitor to La Estrella Roja before its close, Darcy came upon Ashen Joaquin Rose-Morales while visiting for the night with his mentor Hosea Courtright.
He sparked up conversation between himself and the more introverted man, latching on after mention of the other's pack life and its benefits. Thankfully, Joaquin agreed to let Darcy live with him, on the condition that the Butler would eventually find a place of his own before too long.

Though he appreciates Joaquin's generosity, he finds himself questioning his roommate's morality and is otherwise ready to find his own place among the Ashen.
