Born Amadeus de Valle, Cricket was a bastard born to a low-class merchant and an Arena noblewoman in Onuba. His care was surrendered fully to his father to avoid disgracing the noble family's name - though the Arenas did not fully forget about the boy's existence. A trade route was proposed to send Cricket and his father abroad with a load of cargo to Khurdan Salkhi, without telling either of them that they had neglected the full value of their side of the trade.
As collateral payment, the Himaa clan of the steppe took Cricket on as a ward, renaming him and taking on the care and stewardship, where he became fast friends with one of the Khan's sons. The merchant father never returned to pick up his son.

BasicsCricket is at least 70% leg, regardless of form. Lean, gawky, and awkwardly built in his youth, he's since filled out into a stringy, lean shape - he's got the body of a runner, and a good set of lungs - his high-energy mannerisms and lifestyle make it easy for him to maintain his shape. He's got a long, beakish muzzle, and a couple of moles. His coat, if allowed, grows thick, wiry and unruly in random patches on his extremities- Cricket is extremely averse to this; his limbs and tail are littered with bald spots, old healed sores and abrasions. Before he had hands (and thus the clumsy use of clippers and shears to keep his coat maintained), young Cricket resorted to anxious and mild autophagy to cope with excessive coat length. While still dreadfully self-conscious of these marks, he's learned to tolerate them via bandaging and decorative wraps. In optime, his hair, and long ears, are tamed soley by habitually trimming, and pulling everything back away from his face. Gold hoop clasps keep his hairstyle out of his eyes. Highly humanized, rarely are any forms used outside of optime. Cricket upholds the Onuban standard of nudity equating to indecency, with some of Khurdan Salkhi's flair for decoration and style of wear. |
