Colette Delyle

Colette Delyle is a wolfdog raised in England who was captured as a slave following a shipwreck. She was freed from slavery in the Spring of 2017 and found her way to the Cour des Miracles Outpost.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Essentials

Basics Colette's fur is an unruly tangle most of the time. With a basecoat of white, grey splotches of all sizes cover her from head to toe, with both floppy ears covered completely. Her Optime hair is long, reaching just past her shoulders and covering her blue eyes if she doesn't push it back. Her fur otherwise is borderline shaggy, long enough to kink but short enough not to catch on branches and the like. In her Secui and Lupus forms its much longer, almost enough to touch the ground and begins to curl. The only part of her without the curls are two bands around her wrists, which have shorter, flat fur over scars from where her skin was rubbed raw by manacles during her time as a slave. 2.  Personality

Trained young as a trader merchant guard, Colette is decidedly brave and bold with a stubborn streak to her. She’s not shy about telling people to back off, especially now that she has been freed from forced enslavement.

She has a hard time trusting due to her experience under the yoke, but is still an eager and helpful individual if she believes the recipient deserves it. Hesitant with strangers, she tries to keep to herself, guarding herself due to the belief that her opinions and thoughts could be used against her. Colette is slow to warm up to people.

She does not hold too strong a prejudice against coyotes, mostly hesitant with the ones who had enslaved her. While wary of other coyotes, she is not entirely opposed to their existence.

Due to her traumatic shipwreck, she has a horrible fear of storms, thunder, and lightning. Strong winds do not bother her, but the sound and smell of a stormy night will send her cowering under the covers and nearly crying despite herself.

Trade (Apprentice): She naturally picked up some of the nuances of trading goods whilst preparing for her family's voyage to the Caribbean. Guard (Apprentice): Trained as a guard for merchants when she was young

4.  History

Raised in coastal England, Colette joined her family’s trading venture to the Caribbean loaded with European goods like woods, jewelry, preserved meats, and other products. However, a storm in the tropics drew the ship shockingly off-course, crashing them into the Yucatan rather than Cuba. Upon crashing, the remaining crew were forced into slavery by the Selva clan of coyotes due to their clear dog heritage.

She remained in the clan as a slave for several months before a successful raid by Paradiso in the early spring of 2017 freed her and another canine from servitude. She remains relatively loyal to one of the rescuers, and chose to go with him to flee the constant risk of trouble from the coyotes.
