1.2 Miscellaneous
Interaction
- Speech: His deep, smooth voice is colored by an obvious New Orleans accent, and occasionally peppers his speech with slang.
- Scent: The warm smell of leather and smoke dominate his scent, but he does smell distinctly coyote, with hints of something strange that most who haven't met a jackal hybrid won't recognize.
- Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: oh man what a weirdo
- General Posture and Body Language: do you have an imposing bro? or a meek and mild mouse?

2. Personality
A quiet, but confident man, Cadoc avoids large, chaotic gatherings, especially those full of young, hormonal males. His recent experiences with such people have made him suspicious and distrustful of young males. He is also prone to overprotectiveness towards women and might be overbearing towards his romantic partners, even if his heart is in the right place.
Still, he strives to help others, as he grew up hungry and semi-homeless, but always takes care of himself first. In a pack he would work hard for the benefit of all, but his more selfish base instincts, nurtured from childhood, means that he dreams of being self-sufficient. He wants to be like the merchants and farmers he sometimes robbed in his youth, someone with so much excess he might not notice if a little goes missing.
Though he feels things strongly, from the death of his mother to having to leave behind his mentor, Cadoc doesn’t show emotion often. He would have to trust someone a great deal before opening up to them. Even if he trusts someone, he might hide his genuine feelings from them to protect them.

Biases
SexualityMostly attracted to women, Cadoc does occasionally experience brief attraction to males, which he refuses to acknowledge. He is highly respectful of women, to the point that he will not make advances until he is certain that his feelings are reciprocated. Once he is in a relationship, however, his overprotective nature could lead to him becoming too controlling or dominating for his own good. The right woman would probably be able to snap him out of this fairly quickly, as he isn't set in his ways just yet. Interests
SubstancesHe enjoys alcohol and marijuana in moderation but views those who constantly abuse such substances to excess as stupid and lazy. |
Spirituality
Though he grew up in a highly Catholic family and carries his mother's cross with him constantly, Cadoc is not very religious. Belief in some vague higher power and crossing himself in dangerous or frightening occasions are about all that still lingers in his everyday behavior.

Born on April 6, 2018, to a young coyote, Carys Beaumont, in New Orleans, Cadoc’s early childhood was full of tragedy. His father, a jackal hybrid from Africa, sailed away from the city before his mother ever learned she was pregnant. Part of a family struggling to run a lackluster tavern, it forced her to work hard and eat little throughout her pregnancy. As a result, Cadoc was the only pup in his litter to live longer than a few days, the other two dying swift deaths.
Weakened by her pregnancy, Carys never recovered from giving birth. She caught pneumonia when he was only two months old and died a swift death, leaving him with only an old gold cross. Though his mother’s family did their best to take care of the young pup, they were so busy they often ignored him, shoving him out the way and only fed the barest scraps. Cadoc was a clever young pup and learned how to beg for scraps from anyone who would give him the time of day.
By the time he could shift, Cadoc had left the Beaumont’s behind, running through the streets of New Orleans with other street kids. He did whatever necessary to survive, learning to steal, beg, and fight for food. Still, he was desperate to make something more of himself and he managed to convince a passing trade caravan to take him on as an apprentice. With one last goodbye to the remaining Beaumonts, he left the city of his birth behind.
Hard work dominated his every waking second with the caravan, but he loved it, and learned everything the adults of the group were willing to teach him. From basic survival skills like hunting to caravan specific tasks like handling their cart horses, Cadoc sucked up knowledge like a sponge. He settled into the role of hunter and scout for the group. His recurve bow, a gift from the trader who first took him in, Samson, was always in his hand.
As time passed, however, tensions rose within the group as the caravan leader’s pups, Tucker and Thom, grew older. Spoiled brats that they were, the pair of obnoxious boys often caused problems while they traveled from town to town. Soon the older, more established members of the caravan found excuses to leave the group. Cadoc hated the duo, disgusted with how entitled and self-obsessed they were. Still, he stayed for Samson’s sake, as he loved the old dog as the father he had never had.
One night in Portland, however, everything went to hell. The younger members of the caravan had wandered off and found the local bar. Tucker and Thom outdrank everyone around them, and when they started to stagger back to the caravan’s camp they came upon a pretty young wolf on her way home. The pair harassed and chased after her, eventually cornering her in an alley. When Cadoc stumbled upon this scene, they’d already torn half her clothes off, and he saw red. He knocked Thom out cold with a well-timed punch, but his brawl with Tucker didn’t go so well. Though the girl had escaped, he and Tucker caused so much ruckus that the rest of their group were able to catch up to them, separating the combatants and dragging them back to camp.
Because of his fight with the caravan leader’s sons, Cadoc was banished from the group and forced to leave the only thing close to family he had, Samson. Still, he was determined not to give up, and headed up north, towards a more prosperous area known as ‘Souls by the locals he had heard rumors about.
