Aranck is a teacher ranked as Udeloquay in The Great Tribe. He arrived in 'Souls, heading to AniWaya to join in March 2012, where he remained until August 2016. He then journeyed back to The Great Tribe.

He is an Eastern Timber Wolf, born into The Great Tribe.

1.  Lifestyle

1.1  Speech

It is very obvious that Aranck spent most of his adult life in the Great Tribe as he has an obvious accent from there. His speech is slow and thought out. His voice is rough and a bit scratchy.

1.2  Abilities



He was formerly a head priest in the Great Tribe so he knows a lot about healing but his skills are a bit less since he is in a new place with slight different plants.


He also is very good at teaching others things, whether it is the AniWayan language or culture or history of the Great Tribe.



His main weakness is horses. He isn’t mean to them nor does he avoid them, he simply cannot ride them. He doubts that he ever will nor is he keen on learning how.

Aranck resides in a hut in the village.

1.4  NPCs


His Spirit Guide is a common raven called Degataga, or Taga. He tends to be Aranck's gentler half but does enjoy his charges sarcasm.


Lomasi is a female bobcat that Aranck hand raised from a kitten. She could talk but chooses not to and is very affectionate and quiet.

2.  Appearance

Aranck is a tall elderly Eastern Timber Wolf. He is mostly tawny with a white belly. He also has black starting from his head down towards his tail. His eyes are a very light blue.

2.1  Forms


In this form, which he rarely is in, he looks like a normal Eastern Timber Wolf.


This form is a rarer form than even lupus. His fur is a bit longer, especially near the neck.


In this form, Aranck is fairly humanized. His hair is black and kept in a half-ponytail, where the top half of his hair is pulled back but the rest is loose. It also has a few small braids in it.

2.2  Build & Species

His build is tall and lean. He used to walk tall and straight, but arthritis has caused him to slowly become bent over.

2.3  Coloration & Fur

Coloration -- The base of his coat is Limed Oak with a belly of pure white. He has black running from the top of his head down to near his tail. The black of his fur is peppered with grey from age. His eyes are Baby Blue.

His fur is short, straight, and yet rather thick.

2.5  Accessories

  • He has a colorful poncho that he usually wears. He also has an intricately carved and painted walking stick that he uses to help walk. He also has a bag with medical supplies, hunting gear, and writing supplies.

3.  Personality

Aranck is a seemingly cranky old man. But he really is rather nice and very wise.

  • Alignment: Aranck is very much Chaotic Good. He believes in helping people but does like to go against tradition if he needs to.

3.1  Demeanor

Aranck isn’t really shy or aloof but he also isn’t a social butterfly. Instead, he prefers to keep to himself and observe people. He's pretty good at reading people and it shows in his at times intense study of them.

With anyone who is rude and mean, Aranck tends to get really surly and insulting to people. Yet if they're polite and/or lost, he's much nicer and generally helpful, whether they want his help or not. He has a real weak spot for pups and wants to protect their innocence as much as possible. He does have a strong sense of what is right and wrong. He likes learning new things. He believes that anyone can learn new things, no matter their age. He also enjoys reading and singing, though he's not the best at singing.

3.2  Outlook

He does tend to be a bit on the pessimistic side but not terribly so. He is dominant, mostly due to the fact that he was so highly ranked back in the Great Tribe. He is neither introverted or extroverted.

3.3  Ideals


Big Bias

Aranck doesn't have any big biases.

Other Biases

  • Species: He does think that wolves are slightly better than other species but that is mostly due to the thinking by his generation in the Great Tribe. But his feelings are less extreme in this but he still holds this to be true.
  • Non-Luperci: He pities them but holds no hatred towards them nor does he lord over them.
  • Human Behaviors: He embraces human behaviors and thinks they are necessary for survival and success.


He is vaguely heterosexual bordering on asexual. He hasn't really been attracted to anyone in particular but he does like to harmlessly flirt with women.


He'd be fine with alcohol but has never really developed a taste for it. He doesn’t approve of most of the harder stuff except marijuana. He has used marijuana a few times and likes it. Though he mostly uses tobacco.


Aranck believes wholeheartedly in the AniWayan religion.

Specific Beliefs

  • His main belief is in Spirits, not only spirit guides but spirits in general. Spirit Guides should be listened to since their knowledge is timeless. Also, there are spirits in animals and elements. Basically, spirits are all around.

4.  Relationships

Back in the Great Tribe, Aranck had many friends and acquaintances, since he was a prominent member. But in AniWaya, he has very few friends and only a few handfuls of acquaintances. He does try to help them, even if they don’t want his help

4.1  Key Relations

Ulilohi Ehn

Aranck and Ulilohi Ehn's relationship is FAIR. He had known the AniWayan leader from the Great Tribe and her aunt and thought highly of her aunt. He also thinks highly of Ulilohi and often calls her "my dear" to her apparent annoyance. He does have trouble at times forgetting that he is no longer a councilmember and they are not equals, but he does try

4.2  Groups


Aranck finds that AniWaya intrigues him. It is very much like the Great Tribe but at the same time is vastly different.

  • Luna Sabino?: Luna is in many ways Aranck's only other friend within AniWaya and he treats her much like a niece. She helped him with his arthritis in exchange for learning about the Great Tribe and the language.


He has had little interaction with other packs.

5.  History

Aranck was born to a family of council members and healers. He was the oldest and followed his father in becoming a priest and council member. His younger and favorite sister married the chief’s son and had several sons and daughters, including the current chief, Achak Aatu. But Aranck never married and instead became everyone’s favorite, albeit cranky, uncle.

But he soon found that he didn’t enjoy being a council member all that much and stepped down from his post and instead focused on his profession path, eventually becoming Ookah for the Great Tribe. Yet he was still asked for opinions on things, which he gave occasionally. But often he didn’t really want to give advice to the council or they promptly ignored his advice. Yet he didn’t mind since his hobby soon became watching them fail horribly from not following his advice. He also would sometimes purposefully give bad advice to see if they would follow it or not. But this was never for anything serious, like war.

When Maska decided to leave for AniWaya, he did not approve of sending the man nor was he happy when he learned how the younger man handled the mission. He told his nephew that he had warned them it would happen. And he gave up his position as Ookah to join AniWaya, or at least see what it was like. Not long after he joined AniWaya, he took in his grandniece, Jiya.
