It's quite possible that she's had no sexual experience before leaving Jesup and hasn't had the time or inclination to examine her sexuality and figure out what she likes.

Probably avoids alcohol as it makes a person weak and suspectable to outside influence.

Animal Husbandry (Master): She herds things. Her knowledge of animal husbandry primarily extends to sheep, but she's also good at dealing with horses and other hoofed animals.
Brawling (Apprentice): She's had to punch a whole lot of people recently.
Reading/Writing (Journeyman): She came from a fairly well-off family, and therefore had more time to devote to leisure activities like reading or writing.

Had a fairly nice childhood, but the exact circumstances are up to adopter.
Her parents set her up with an arranged marriage to Doc Sullivan. Abigail didn't find this upsetting, as she trusted her parents to make a good match for her. She may have had some pre-marriage jitters or anxiety over it, but she knew that getting married was expected of her, and genuinely loved her family. The fact that Doc was polite and gentlemanly only made this process easier.
When Doc made the mistake of taking a bribe from an arena fighter to poison his opponent, a whole lot of trouble fell on her family's doorstep. (Exact trouble to be written later.)
Abi leaves home to find Doc and ask him WTF happened. (May be angry, heartbroken, or confused; either way, she wants answers.)
Could've had some travel shenanigans before reaching 'Souls.
