1.  Description

Deep in the heart of mountains, resting between two of the larger peaks, lies a set of interconnected caverns. There are multiple entrances, some barely large enough for a rabbit, but the most prominent ones are two gaping holes on the rock face nearly fifteen feet high. Just within the mouth of the cave, all light disappears and the darkness is absolute. If lit artificially, however, the stone is a pale golden-yellow, rough with crumbling rocks.

The caves continue on for miles, on an incline and decline as well, and it is easy to get lost in the stony labyrinth. During weather with strong winds, one hears a shrill howl whistling through each of the caves, tiny cracks, and gaping holes of the Caverns, giving the Howling Caverns its name.

Anathema previously made these caverns their main living structure until the pack's disbandment in March 2017.

The Pits

At the end of a tunnel, at the far back of the Caverns, a fissure has cracked the earth, leaving a dark, gaping hole. One misstep in the darkness could have one plummeting to their deaths in what seems to be a bottomless crevice. However, it is as beautiful as it is treacherous. The walls in the fissure seem to have crystallized. Signs have been hung on the walls warning members to avoid at all costs.

A dome-shaped underground room that houses natural pools for Anathema's fish. From small crevices in the furthest wall, water flows into the semi-natural pools of water which are scattered throughout this underground space. Lit by low candle light, the surface of the water takes on a low glow and the scales of the aquatic inhabitants reflect in the light. Shelves lined with varying tools and resources for the fish decorate the walls within. Info about Sakana.

A spacious cavern hosts a small group of underground hot springs. Unfortunately, two large boulders block the tunnel that leads to these springs in the Howling Caverns, so members will have to access it through a tunnel on the northwestern side of the Halcyon Mountain. In the cavern, the springs are separated into two rooms by a large ridge that cuts through the middle of them. One side hosts one large, steaming pool, while the other side hosts a medium and a small-sized pool.

A group of dark holes in the ground were discovered to the north of Howling Caverns, deep within the mountain. When found, it became apparent that, while these holes were deep, one could see the bottom of them if they had the proper lighting. Only one tunnel leads down to The Pits and none exit it. Rope ladders sit on the ground around the edges of the room, and can be lowered down by two Luperci to allow someone to climb up. This area is used as a jail to house criminals and prisoners. It is guarded by the Shax, Gideon and access is restricted without proper permission from leadership.

2.  Rooms and Residents

  1. Firstly, check to see if the room or house has already been claimed; you are free to claim unoccupied residences. The procedure is simple! Look over at the map, and then pick a residence.
  2. Find the number of the residence on this page, check that it's not occupied, unavailable, unlivable, etc.
  3. You only need to edit the page and write in your claim -- or post to the Anathema Maintenance thread if you're not comfortable editing the Wiki.
  4. Please keep your description to less than 100 words. You are welcome to link to a longer description, but please keep it short on this page.
  5. If your character leaves Anathema for whatever reason, their room reverts to unclaimed and is open to any current member that wants to live there.

A table to sit and eat at toward the back; by it lays his own personal food cache. The far northwest edge of the main room holds a rack for weapons. The room furthest from the entrance is Maxen's room; the room next to that is Yuri's room and the third is for slaves. The tiny room to the left of the entrance is for storage. It's quite a cozy space; plenty of room to laze about.

Other

Craft Workshop N/A
  • This cave of the Howling Caverns has many stone and wooden tables alike meant for all types of craft-work. There are many different tools that rest on shelves and hang from jagged rocks on the walls. Many craftsmen of Anathema work in this area of the Caverns to create items and furniture.
--
Oven Room N/A
  • A large stone oven was built by the hands of many Anathemans a year or two back. Due to its massive structure, it has its own room adjacent to a small tunnel so that the smoke may exit the caves without suffocating its residents. Many types of smoked goods are made here.
--
Ceremonial Commons Room N/A
  • In this room, many rituals are performed both old and new. While the mateship ceremony is mostly performed outside, there are rare occasions where it happens in this room, as do many of Anathema's cultural rituals.
--
Library N/A
  • Connected to the massive storage cave is the library, holding many books varying from informational, fiction, history, to Anathema records. There is an old couch found in this room as well as an old, wooden desk and a couple wooden shelves that hold the books. Members are free to take and donate books here, as well as hang out and read.
--
Storage Room N/A
  • The largest cave in the Howling Caverns happens to be the one that holds all of Anathema's goods. While there is a lot of space between items, don't let that get you fooled. There are other rooms branching off from this massive room holding other sorts of items as well. See the Storage page for the items kept here.
--
Blankets & Cloth Storage N/A
  • In a smaller room that branches off from the Storage room, blankets and other types of cloth and hide are kept here. While it is too much of a jumble to keep them in the main storage room, they are kept neatly in a smaller room next to it.
--
Jars & Glass Storage N/A
  • In a smaller room that branches off from the Storage room, jars and other types of glass are kept here. While it is too much of a jumble to keep them in the main storage room, they are kept neatly in a smaller room next to it mainly on shelves and other surfaces, but some line the floors as well. While most of these storage containers are empty, some of them hold colored sand, beads, water, food, etc.
--
General Common Room N/A
  • While there are mainly pack meetings held in this large room in the middle of the caverns, there are also holidays and other ceremonies celebrated here as well. There is a chunk of rock that stands taller, creating somewhat of a 'low stage' for the speaker(s), and there are many wooden stumps along the floor, meant for seats for those who attend the meetings. There is a large fire pit to the back of the room, away from the seating area that is usually lit.
--
Kitchen Room N/A
  • Most meals and feasts are first prepared in the Kitchen Room. The Kitchen Room has a large fire in the middle of the room with a rack set over it for cooking meats. There are various tables set around the room and knives of all different sizes meant for cutting and preparing food.
--
Feasting Room N/A
  • While most feasts wind up happening in the Common Room, the Feasting Room is mainly what its there for. There is a large wooden banquet, picnic-table-style, table wide enough to hold many plates of food, while seat many Luperci. There is a seperate chair made for the head of the table, the Angelo/Angela, and two seats reserved beside them for the sub-leaders.
--
Meat Storage N/A
  • This cavern is cool enough to store meats for long periods of time before they begin to spoil.
--
Spices & Dried Goods Storage N/A
  • This cavern is cool enough to store spices and other dried goods for longer periods of time before they begin to spoil.
--
Liquid Storage N/A
  • The liquids are stored in a separate room due to the possibility of them breaking or leaking.
--
Un-purposed Room N/A
  • There is an unpurposed room beside the Liquid Storage room that houses one of the many Emergency Entrance/Exits.
