Erie is a section of territory that originated in the ruins of the city and suburbs surrounding the Great Lake. In the aftermath of the apocalypse, local dogs began to band together in family units and packs. Over the following years and decades, these original survivors began families of their own and welcomed travelers into their midst. In time, the area grew. As Luperci took to sailing, Erie became an important trade hub. It remains a notable port today, though rough winters and dangerous algae blooms often plague the area.

1.  Essentials

1.1  Geography & Climate

Just north of the Appalachian Mountains, the region is prone to heavy amounts of lake-effect snow, seeing an above-average amount. White-outs are common in winter, and fog a regular occurrence. In summers, the presence of the lake helps to temper the worst of the heat, though days can still skyrocket to extremes.

1.2  Landmarks

  • The Peninsula - Presque Isle State Park consists of seven miles of beaches, wetlands, and wooded areas. Though paved roads and buildings were present during the time of man, these have long been destroyed or buried by exposure and weather. This location is a prime hunting spot, though due to the volatile nature of the lake, pointedly left unsettled.
  • Bloody Mary – In an ironic twist of fate, in the year it was entirely restored this ship was left unattended, sitting in dry-dock for several years. By the time Luperci began taking an interest in sailing, extensive repair was needed to bring the ship back up to snuff. Extraordinary effort (that of the entire town) enabled the ship to once again set sail. Almost immediately upon launch, however, arguments broke out over exactly how ownership was to be divided. Arguments broke out, leading to bloodshed. After many weeks of brutal – and sometimes fatal – warring between families, a resolution was settled upon. Over the years, stories of the conflict became greatly exaggerated, leading to the name change. The old ship, a relic of the past, remains in use by its current Captain, and can occasionally be hired for the right price.

1.3  Fauna & Flora
