1.  Essentials

1.1  Geography

See Chicago geography on Wikipedia.

1.2  Climate

See Chicago climate.

1.3  Flora and Fauna

It might be cool to link a bit of this, especially if the flora/fauna is significantly different from what one might encounter in eastern Canada.

Put an example photo here!

2.  Culture

2.1  Families

Family life is an important factor in Chicago life. Families are mostly close-knit that accept few outsiders into their ranks, with the eldest person acting as the head of the family. There are four major family groups ranging from the innermost city, to the surrounding areas, to the coastline.

The Wren Family: The Wren family are the scavengers and inventors of the city, living in the heart of the city. They know the ins and outs of the abandoned buildings and have sharp eyes for anything that might be valuable. They also have a separate branch, called the Watchers, that act as a police force of sorts. This family is made up of mostly working dogs, like Dobermans, German Shepherds, and Huskies.

The Finch Family: The Finch family are the artisans and crafters of the city. They are responsible for keeping structures standing and building new ones outside of the city. They control the northern part of the city. This family is mostly dog in blood, with sighthounds and terrier landraces being most common.

The Starling Family: The Starling family is considered to be the caretakers of Chicago, being primarily made up of hunters, fishermen, farmers, herdsmen, and trackers. Some of the Starlings choose to live a more feral lifestyle, and were the first family to hybridize within the main Chicago families. They are mainly made up of wolfdogs.

The Crow Family: The Crow family are the newest family to arrive, keeping mainly near the coast. They are the traders and sailors of the city, with most of them having a reputation for being shifty con artists. This family is the most hybridized as a result of being in contact with more outsiders than any other family. They have a good blend of dog, wolf, and coyote.

2.2  Species

Predominantly dog, with newer generations show more hybridization with wolves and coyotes.

Luperci & Shifting

Most Chicagans are Luperci, although how humanized they are depends on the individual. Most Wrens are more humanized, and some Starlings live a more feral lifestyle.

Languages

Nearly all Chicagans speak English.

Technology

Most of the technology in Chicago is scavenged from human remains, although much is lost due to time and improper care.

Animals & Compaions

The Starlings control production of anything animal-related. Some Luperci have horses to travel with, and others have animal companions. Most do not, however.

Boating and Sailing

The Crow family controls trade and sailing, and the Finches make the boats they sail on.

Style and Fashion

Varies from Luperci to Luperci.

Agriculture

Chicago isn't a very good city for agriculture, so most Luperci do not practice it.

Wine Production

Some Crows and Starlings produce alcohol, although most is scavenged from the city.

Residence

The Wrens live in the most intact portion of the city, the Starlings take the north and the most overtaken part, the Crows take residence on the coastline, and the Finches settle in the southern part.

Practices & Traditions

It's tradition for the head of the family to give the newest pups a gift representing their family when they first shift. For example, when Harper Wren shifted, she was given the obsidian blade that she carries.

Vices

  • Bringing harm to another, either directly or indirectly.
  • Destroying or stealing another's property.
  • Family supremacy among leaders.
  • Unnecessary violence.
  • Rape.
  • Forcefully turning another into a Luperci.

2.3  Outsider Relations & Travel

Travel

Most of the travel in and out of Chicago is done on horseback, although some Luperci prefer to travel on foot.

Outsiders

Outsiders are treated warily by most Chicagans, as they're all quite tightly-knit. Although, the Crows will trade with anyone if they have the stuff they want, and most Luperci are at least polite to outsiders that come into their borders.

3.  Structure

3.1  Leaders

The heads of the families, usually the eldest until the firstborn takes over, rule over their respective groups. Each leader also meets and collaborates with the others to ensure peaceful relations and to divide their resources fairly.

3.2  Law & Justice

The Watchers is a group of trained fighters and assassins responsible for upholding the law in the city. They operate unattached to any one family, although the group's originated within the Wren family.

4.  Religion

Most of the canines in Chicago are atheists and therefor do not believe in any religion.

5.  History

5.1  Significance

If your area has a particular influence on 'Souls (e.g., a large number of immigrants come from this area, or a pack was founded on the basic beliefs of this area) write about it here! List any families that originate in your area:

5.2  History

If there was a massive war or other large scale occurrence here, you may include it here, however, please keep in mind that these events don't have a lot of meaning for characters who did not originate from the place during that time. A generalized summary is much better.
