Basatiak is an area in the far north. The Luperci there are large and thick-furred, many of which are dog hybrids of large breeds with some large wolf species mixed in. The area is extremely feral and not many humanized Luperci make it up there.

There are coniferous forests surrounding the area and a mountain ridge separating the area. It is close to the ocean and is very mountainus with frigid winters. There are little to no human ruins.

Many large dog breeds mixed with large wolf species. Normally large mastiff dogs, mountain dogs, and livestock guardian dogs as these were the ones the people that lived there used commonly. The large species with thick pelts were needed to stay alive and

Luperci & Shifting
  • The Luperci virus was introduced when the humans there contracted the disease and their dogs acquired it from eating the corpses of their former masters.
  • The Luperci typically use their feral forms, particularly Secui because of the size and strength offered and many of the Betas use the form. Gammas often use their Lupus forms since it offers stamina. The Alphas normally use Secui though many use Optime. Most Epsilon stay in Lupus due to their arthritis. The hybrids of Basatiak normally don't need there Optime forms unless necessary. Often, those of Basatiak stay in one form for long periods of time and some just shift to one form and stay there. Many of those who favor a form may be hard-pressed to shift out of it. This may lead to problems later on.

None at all. The practice of keeping livestock, beasts of burden, using weapons, and wearing clothing is almost unheard of for the hybrids of Basatiak. They are likely to attack and hunt horses and have done so in the past. These humanized practices are often hard for the hybrids of Basatiak to grasp and many have never been presented with it before. Maybe in the past the hybrids have come in contact with humanized Luperci, but none are alive today to tell it due to their shorter lifespans.

The language there isn't quite a language. It is very rough-sounding and much of it sounds like growling and is very simple. Body language can often get the point across.
The Basatiak hybrids live in a large cave system in the side of a mountain. The caves are large and sturdy and cave-ins are uncommon. The beasts lay on the earth or use mosses and lichens.

The structure of Basatiak is feral and simple.
  • Alpha: The strongest in the pack, the Alpha can be of either gender and they are determined by a trial by single combat. Not always the largest individuals. They are responsible for decision making and leading the pack. Can number from anywhere from one to even six Alphas.
  • Beta: The largest Luperci in the pack and the protectors. They often are the ones that patrol the territory and do the heavy-lifting for the pack.
  • Gamma: The quickest in the pack. The hunters.
  • Delta: The pups and the nursing or pregnant mothers.
  • Epsilon: The elders, normally anywhere from six to nine years old due to the large size present in the area.
  • Omega: Typically the smaller Luperci in the pack.
  • Tightly-knit and can be playful with one another. Mock fights are common and often a show of friendship between others.
  • Outsiders are almost unheard of, though the hybrids of Basatiak are highly protective of their home. Some outsiders have been killed by the Betas.
  • Pack Hunts : Typically, the pack will gather when the prey is found. A ritual of howling precedes the hunt before they pursue the prey. Often the swift Gammas chase the prey to be ambushed by the Betas. The Epsilon and Delta eat first after the prey is brought back to the den. Then the hunters eat after, typically the Gammas and a couple of Betas. Then Alphas and the other Betas eat next before the Omega eat what is left.
  • Mating: During mating, often eager males may accidentally crush or injure females due to a size difference or large litters may kill the mother. This inadvertent natural selection has caused large size to be bred as only the larger females may survive.

Rank Table

If there was a massive war or other large scale occurrence here, you may include it here, however, please keep in mind that these events don't have a lot of meaning for characters who did not originate from the place during that time. A generalized summary is much better.
