Bleeding Souls was founded on November 18, 2001 by Sie, Natalie, and Jenn on Ezboard forums. There were three packs to start off with, and this expanded and consolidated and shifted about throughout the years. Bleeding Souls was active from November 2001 until April 2008, where a large plot involving lots of fire changed the entire scene, forcing all characters to the west. This marked the beginning of 'Souls, the current incarnation of the site, which takes place in Nova Scotia. Over the years 'Souls has been marked by various changes to the way the site is run as well as the game itself.

The 'Souls administration consists of four separate tiers. The 'Souls Assemblage is the administrative tier of the staff—these guys take care of the serious problems, perform board maintenance, title users, play with CSS and code, fix things when they break, and address all the various different aspects of both the IC and OOC community. These are the guys to go to when you have a problem, fo' sho'.

The moderation tier consists of three separate levels. Senior moderators take care of all forums. Junior moderators take care of their primary character's pack forum, all neutral territories, and Roleplay Related. Pack moderators take care of their primary character's pack forum and the Roleplay Related forum. Although the moderation tier is not able to make direct decisions relative to the board and cannot dictate solutions to problems arising on the board, they are still involved in many discussions related to decisions and problems. Feel free to approach moderators with concerns or questions—chances are they can help you out!

'Souls has endured various hosts, from the good to the bad, for the primary website over the years, from Geocities to piggybacked friends accounts to legitimate purchased hosting. Ezboard handled the hosting of the forums from 2001 up until early 2007, following which they were converted to IPB 2.2.2. This platform was short-lived, however, and IPB was downgraded to 1.3.1 Final in fall 2007, where the game has remained since.

4.  Announcement & Bulletin Archives

There's only a comprehensive archive from 2008 October up until the present day for board announcements. A few older announcements have been scavenged here and there. If you see an announcement on the forum that isn't repeated here yet, feel free to add it in! You can also look back over past Staff Bulletins here and find out what the 'Souls Assemblage has been doing lately.

'Souls always has various Out of Character and In Character things going on—there are numerous ways one can earn prizes, win things, or otherwise contribute to 'Souls via games. A huge part of the OOC community deals with having fun with your fellow roleplayers. :D
