2.  Defining Features

General information about features that define this family.

2.1  Physical Features

  • Large, muscular giants. They're generally very strong and built like bodybuilders or athletes, which is aided by a physical lifestyle.
  • Eyes tend to be either a very pale, frigid blue, or a sharp, brilliant yellow.
  • Hair and fur color is generally monochromatic, with blacks, whites, and grays. Australian Shepherd influence through Semini had lent shades of "blue" to their coloring as generations progress.

2.2  Other Features

  • Body modification is common in the form of piercings and tattoos. The most common feature is the left eyebrow being pierced—a tradition borrowed from the Sobirat'syan Russo.

3.  History

Volkov is the Russian variant of Vuković, which was the surname of Nikita's paternal grandmother. Nikita himself is a member of the Russo family, though when he left home he was determined to create his own legacy. The Russo originate from Sobirat'sya, in Russia, while the Vuković originated from an area in the Carpathian Mountains. The latter traveled north, settling in Russia a few generations prior to Nikita and his siblings. While the Russo are seafarers, living at the very top of the world, the Vuković are hunters, preferring a primal, nomadic life. They are simple-minded, rejecting much of the human influences seen in other European luperci groups. At most they wear pelts and animal skins and hunt with weapons intended for use with blunt force rather than finesse. The Vuković who headed to Russia settled in the wilderness, while Tsura Vuković was the only one who followed her daughter, Jovanka, to Sobirat'sya. Already elderly, she was a formidable woman who spoke poor Russian. She had a strong influence on Nikita's upbringing, thus his inspiration to take and modify her family name, though she died when he was fairly young.
