Zynex was a previous member of Phoenix Valley from November 2009 until March 2010.

History

As a cub, Zynex and her sister Nahrus were raised to uphold the family honor and name by taking control of their small pack. Often were they pitted against each other in their youth, always tested on the other to see who had the best attributes to be named leader and carry on the family into favor with the gods. The sisters were groomed from an early age to have the virtues of a leader; strength, and unflinching loyalty to one’s packmates, the skill to hunt and the will to lead. They were taught to fear nothing if their heart was determined and to never back down from their beliefs. They were raised in a wholesome and strong community, but as the clan began to die away, the delicate training they received turned hostile.

And yet, a darker history was embedded into the pack, one in which they would not share with the sisters. This knowledge only the elders knew. The sisters' mother Sekla was not as faithful of a female as her status demanded. A Lupreci Dutchess, one could call her, burdened with the responsibility to bear one child of considerable breeding and be mated to the sire for life. And from this forced union came the first born Nahrus. But while Sekla's heart was not given to the sire Grandier, it was given to his brother Darius. They kept secret their love until Zynex was born from it. To the elders they claimed the child was also Grandier's and the Duke took responsibility for her, knowing the secret shame brought upon the pack.

But the elders would not have two heirs. One was to be decided through skill and quality to lead. Thus the cause for these horrible trials the girls were forced to endure.

Day in and out they were pushed to their limits, forced to turn fangs on the other for a scrap of food, or degrade the other to boost one’s self-esteem. They were turned into monsters toward each other, and eventually the pack as a whole. Both were strong-willed females, but as their training continued and more focus was directed to brawn rather than brain, their minds began to deteriorate.

Of the two, Nahrus was the first to ascend to two legs, using this advantage often again her sibling who remained in the dark of her own abilities. The elders spoke to neither of them of this gifts bestowed by their mother, nor would they given the circumstances, for instinct was another quality of a leader. No longer was the second born willing to tolerate these atrocities.

Zynex was the first to break from this insanity, wanting more from life than this tiresome fighting. In desperation, she pleaded that her sister to follow her lead and leave the pack to ruin. But to Nahrus, it sounded nothing more than her sister’s forfeit. In triumph, she ran to the elder and claimed her worth to be the new head of the pack, abandoning her sister to the wild. Ascending the lead, her first act was to ban Zynex from the clan, believing that if she remained her sister would want to kill her.

Zynex was run from the pack, far beyond its borders until she could no longer run and suffered her clansmen’s fangs. Her escape was by a hair and though her body was wounded, it was nothing in comparison to the damage down to her heart.

Personality

Raised on the truth, that is all Zynex knows. She is one to speak her mind, regardless of the circumstance and is not beneath apologizing for crude behavior. Given her isolation within her previous clan, her social skills are lacking to a severe degree and need to be developed.

Slowly put surely she is trying to draw out of her shell.

Appearance

Zynex, by Koji

Eurasian female built for the ice and snow. Prided as a cub for her vibrant coat, the brilliance has yet to linger despite age and wear. A vivid array of rust and onyx dabbed along her ridge and flecked within the outline of her belly. Her underside if a rich beige, unmarred by variation, extending down her boots and paws. Thick obsidian claws contrast the pale complexion, always drawing the eyes to their consistent sharpened state and rousing wary in even the most stable hearts.

Coat aside, her build is something to be commended and faulted. A thick bodice of muscle makes her ideal for brunt attack as well as impeccable defence, yet it is difficult to carry a heavy mass with slender legs disproportioned to her frame. Her legs and long, perhaps too much so given her stature. They add to her staggering 38” height (at the shoulder), often causing others to mistaken her as a male. Her tail, for its worth is at average length, falling delicately at her rear with the tip reaching mid-calf. Same as her pelt, it is blessed with a brilliant array, more so rust than beige and tipped in black.

As the face is most often the first of her to be seen, attention is easily drawn to it. A stark contrast to her body are the crystal gems made for her eyes. A translucent as water, but harder than ice, a spectacle to be witnessed under the morning light. Never do her eyes remain a single color unless fixed under a waning light, even then they hold a haunting glow. In her childhood, they were compared to the celestial rays of the moon. Her muzzle is strong with powerful jaws in piqued condition but none the less vulnerable to a misplaced tooth at times. In comparison with her siblings, her mouth is a little long for her liking, but not noticeable to the common eye. Ashen rubbers veil the deadly incisors, receding in color into a vibrant mask to cover her face. Under the jaw the coal down bled into the beige fur of her breast. As for her ears; suited to her skull, triangular in form and grey on the interior.
