In return for the care and friendship they'd shown to her, Grace volunteered herself and prompted the mated couple Alder and Rei to use her as a surrogate. Giving birth to the litter, Grace left Cour des Miracles once the children were weaned, leaving them in their care of their fathers and ceased all contact. Born the second of five children; Argan, Acacia, Willow, and Walnut, the household was rather chaotic during her youth, full of rampant play and joy.
Unfortunately, due to an unknown illness, the little family soon found themselves losing one member. Plagued by disease, Rei took his own life in December 2016, when it became apparent that he wasn't going to be getting much better. Having been sheltered from the worst of the damage the disease had done, Bell and her siblings simply learned that their dad was dead, their memory of him preserved as they knew him - alive, happy and healthy. Of course, the changes in Alder were something to be noted, their father mourning the loss of his mate.
