1.  Appearance

Serecen is a Siberian Husky, and a larger one at that. She has copper-colored fur on her back and a white underbelly, not very well kept. Often, bits of clay can be seen clumping the fur together on her arms and front, despite her habit of wearing an apron for her work. She attempts to wash up, but often doesn't care how she looks. Her coat is disheveled, not to the point of damage to it, but just not as perfectly kept as some other Luperci.

In her Optime form, the form she spends most of her time in, she wears an apron made of a thin leather for her work. It's long, reaching her knees and covering her chest up to the neck and tied around around her back in two places. Sometimes she can be seen still wearing it in public, often not caring to remove it after she finishes her day.

In a fight she prefers her Optime form as well, using brute strength to ward off foes, preferring this to actual skill. She's similar in size to an average wolf, and she uses it to her advantage. She never has had much call to shift, and as such, is out of practice.

She has a small patch of burned away fur on her right hand from a firing accident. Thankfully, the damage was not deep enough to cause much lasting damage outside of permanent hair removal. Her proximity to fire for her work often means a slight smell of heat in her coat. Sometimes a pleasant tinge, other times a deep, putrid smell of burning fur, depending on the day.

2.  Personality

In person, Serecen can seem brash, impatient, and irritable, especially if you only meet her in person. She knows to show respect when it's necessary, but in most cases, her first impressions can make her seem anywhere from bitterly cynical to vaguely misanthropic.

If someone manages to break through this outer shell with persistence, patience, or unrequited kindness, they'll find a bit of a softie. She hides her attention to the feelings of her friends with a gruff attitude, taking meticulous care not to hurt the emotions of those she considers close. She understands the intricacies of Luperci behavior only in her friends; anyone else is a complete mystery to her and she tends to believe they are disingenuous.

Her impatience melts entirely when it comes to her work. Working with her hands makes sense to her, and follows simple rules. The clay does not care if she is gruff, if she speaks or remains silent. It listens to her inner self with an attention unmatched by any living creature. Truly, it can be said that she is happiest when her fur is covered in clay from a day's work.

When she feels challenged or threatened, she responds quickly and efficiently. Sometimes with biting words, other times, when she sees the need, with force. She is intelligent, but not necessarily wise, and can often use words in ways she doesn't fully understand the consequences of. In the company of her friends, her humor can show easily, revealing itself as if it has been cooped up all day and ready for use.

3.  History

Serecen was born to a less fortunate family, her father dying shortly before her birth. She was raised under less than spectacular conditions, learning early how to help take care of her family on a new continent. Her parents had not displayed any particular talents outside of being hard workers, but she had managed to show a hand for crafting, specifically with pottery in small, personal projects.

She applied for an apprenticeship and worked hard, showing remarkable patience for her work. But outside of her job, her patience was thin, and frequent turned away advances began to pile on her. After her mother's death to disease, she gained a penchant for brawling, her larger frame making it easier for her to turn men away quite forcefully, but soon, she made the mistake of turning the wrong male away.

Through his influence, her pottery master lost business. Soon, it was even threatened by disreputable men. Her master had come to be attached to Serecen, enjoying the business she had brought him with her talent... but enough was enough. She didn't want to wait until he was hurt or his business destroyed; she left of her own volition.

Her two brothers had left months earlier, taking to a life closer to nature, and she had no one left. She fell into dismay, resigning herself to death.

Thankfully, a friend saved her from starvation, providing an escape from the city. Halan gave her a means to start over, and she took it with both hands, returning to the continent her family had moved from.
