He left Nova Scotia in early adulthood, befriending Jefferson Soul as his mentor, but returned one year later to fulfill a pact made with brothers Severus and Judas. Quickly, he pledged himself to Judas -- and defended the man from accusations of (very real) terrible deeds. However, Octy's denial could not protect him from the truth, or Judas from justice at a victim's parent's hands.
After Judas' death, Octavius wandered without purpose before helping found a new pack in the north, Krokar. He remained with the nascent pack for nearly a year, serving as one of its defenders, before parting ways with his new family to seek adventure elsewhere. He acted as a guardian and companion for both Atalanta Kartal and Myrkr Stormbringer, until eventually he came across Old Ironsides, a depot of his pack. Feeling the effects of arthritis and other complications from his gigantism, Octavius decided to stay with them and at last settle down. He acts as a friendly guard, tutoring others in basic skills and keeping spirits high.
Species: Octavius looks purebred despite a small percentage of non-wolf blood. He especially pulls from his Mackenzie Valley wolf heritage.
Fur: He has thick, shaggy fur that hides some of the finer details of the body sculpted underneath.
Optime Hair: His shaggy white mane is beginning to grow out, often tamed into a ponytail.
Facial Features: Arguably handsome, in a very typically masculine sense. He has a very strong jawline, with a lot of muscle to power a deadly bite.
Build and Size: Octavius is massive, well enough over the average to be called a giant. He is burly and muscular, with broad shoulders and thick limbs that easily carry his substantial weight.
Humanization: A little -- Octavius does not wear much but carries himself a little more humanized.

Octavius is a giant, with broad shoulders and well-toned, intimidating body.
Interaction
Speech: Octavius has a deep, booming voice -- but he often struggles to find the right word and occasionally has slurring speech.
Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Since his speech problems began, Octavius took up miming words and so largely talks with his hands.
General Posture and Body Language: Octavius has friendly, open, and submissive posture, conscious of his size. He doesn't usually use his size unless provoked -- in which case he will stand tall and puff up as a threat.
There's no doubt that Octavius is a good friend to have, especially considering the swiftness with which he makes them. Willing to fight for the underdog, he constantly seeks to find the best in people, refuses to hold grudges, and forgives easily, sometimes even to a fault. Audacious and jolly, a good sport with a sense of humor, he oozes a nonthreatening kind of charisma.
He truly is a gentle giant, willing to die to protect those he loves, and tending to the small with utmost kindness. He has a powerful paternal instinct and dotes on the young around him, whether they're a caribou calf or a pup, and often uses his supporting nature to care for those who have lost their way.
Bright and... Not Bright:
Octavius has the uncanny ability to replicate and "master" new skills shown to him, in a very short amount of time. The trade-off is that this skill is shallow; while he can copy processes, he doesn't understand the basics. He's a jack of all trades, master of none, and still has yet to discover -- beyond fighting -- anything that he can hone to a greater ability.
Octavius is not a thinker. Though strong, versatile and talented, the white wolf rarely relies on his intellect, and is quicker to act on reflex than consider a situation thoroughly. When faced with an enemy, his reaction goes without question: Octavius can come across as shallow, ingenuine and altogether daft in his efforts to appease and appreciate those around him.
After being drugged with a stimulant by a pair of traders, Octavius' overly trusting nature has taken a blow. He is slightly more wary of the world around him, though not yet jaded. He's accepted that there are bad people in the world who will hurt others for no reason. His worry now is that he's too stupid and gullible to be of use to his pack, and so his self-esteem has suffered a blow.
2.1 Ideals
Traits
Outlook: Optimistic
Sociability: Extroverted -- to the point of depression if left alone too long.
Making friends, protecting loved ones, finding a new family
Fears
Mistaken for Evil: Octavius fears being seen as the bad guy. After "screwing up" by protecting Judas, Oct doesn't want to be seen as evil or aiding evil, leading to desperate efforts to apologize as well as feeling hurt if accused.
Failure: Oct doesn't want to fail to protect his loved ones ever again.
Interests
Likes: Extroversion, family, displays of affection, jokes, wrestling, girls, snow
Dislikes: Cruelty, lack of humor, small doorways
Biases
Family: Octavius is strongly motivated by taking care of his family, and so often he thinks that family can do no wrong. He feels an instantaneous (albeit probably imagined) connection with family members -- though very distant family a little less so.
Gender: Octy is generally kinder and gentler toward women, attempting to be respectful but easily interpreted as misogynistic!
Sexuality
Heterosexual
Octavius is a shameless flirt, though largely harmless. His intentions are usually friendly rather than sexual, and his interest in others is expressed almost as a joke. He doesn't take himself too seriously in the romance department, and he doesn't feel like he's entitled to feminine company.
In spite of all this, Octy is motivated by the thought of settling down with a mate.
Substances
Casual and social user only
Honestly dislikes substances on their own -- easily prompted to "share," however
Spiritually
Open-minded and unconcerned about religion.
Octy has forgotten or ignored most of the religious beliefs of old Anathema, and so they have little bearing on his life. He tends to just "go with it" and believe others when they speak of their own religious beliefs and experiences.
Extended: Octavius has a massive extended family due to his vast blood ties to the D'Angelo and de le Poer families.
3.2 Relations
Key Relations
Judas Poer de Aika XIII was Octavius' younger brother whom he pledged to protect. Manipulative and infamous, Judas was (rightfully) accused of many horrors which Oct attempted to defend him from -- including taking a poisonous blade meant for his sibling. At long last, Judas was killed, and Octavius realized just what sort of creature he'd been protecting.
Farina vin Haki is his very good muscle frand. They do cool friend stuff like talk and hunt and beat the shit out of each other. She's such a great friend she makes Octy feel lightheaded and sweaty-palmed when she smiles at him! Awww.
Positive Relations
Jefferson Soul was a paternal figure for Octavius, his mentor for a good portion of his life. Oct misses the grumpy old man.
Neutral / Negative
Severus Poer de Angelo is Octavius' remaining brother. Though they were not close, Octavius loved Severus as family -- but when Severus neglected to show up and help Judas in his final months, Octavius wondered if Sev abandoned them. He feels betrayed.
Naniko D'Angelo is Octavius' mother, though after the triplets left the pack they were never to see Naniko again. Octavius is left only with memories, which include his mother doting on him and being cruel to Judas.
Octavius is skilled at unarmed combat and excels at a kicking technique taught to him by Jefferson. When he isn't kicking, he tends to throw his weight around and grapple foes; he's more of a bruise-and-break than make-'em-'bleed kind of guy. He definitely takes advantage of his large size, which allows him to absorb quite a few blows, too.
At odds with his daft nature, Octy is a quick study and can learn new skills in record time -- whether it's playing an instrument, patching a wound the right way, or carving something from wood. However, his knowledge is rather shallow, and so he isn't going to become a master musician, healer, and carver; it takes a great teacher and a lot of practice to master something. He's truly a "jack of all trades, master of none."
Octavius' giant size lends him insane strength; he's acted as pack mule, bulldozer, unyielding mountain. He uses his height to intimidate when he'd rather not fight, puffing up and standing tall to convince an attacker that they probably shouldn't try to attack the big guy.
4.2 Weaknesses
Octavius is overly optimistic with regards to life. He sees the best in everyone and so he doesn't spare a thought toward any ulterior motives others might have (though he fights if outright provoked). He's gullible, trusting others and giving them several second chances. He likes to think that everything will work out, so he doesn't bother thinking ahead.
He's also not too bright and can be called lazy as well as rash. He doesn't look before he leaps, often missing warning signs that would drive a wise wolf away. He's had life handed to him on a plate in his youth, and so he doesn't bother to learn much from his mistakes unless they're particularly dangerous. He often comes across as clueless, as well as shirking actual deep thought; he avoids any deep mental conflict as long as he can.
He suffered some minor brain damage as a result of his poisoning -- this mostly affects speech and memories. He has difficulties getting his point across when he struggles to find the right word for a situation, and his gaps in memory can cause confusion even if they are often small and short-lived.
His giant size is as much a liability as it is an asset. He's slow-moving, with poor endurance, and he needs to eat far more than the average wolf due to his metabolism. The human world was not built for giants, and so he has difficulty maneuvering through doorways and can't fit in places, let alone handle small or delicate objects. On a far more serious note, his size will affect his health as he ages; he's prone to die sooner than most Luperci, as well as develop joint problems.

5. History
Octavius was born into Anathema to Naniko D'Angelo, the pack's leader at the time, and Barrett Poer de Aika XIII, a loner, in August 2011. He was the eldest of a litter of three brothers, and decidedly Naniko's favorite; he was comparatively cherished and spoiled. His youngest brother, Judas, was not so fortunate; Naniko thought the runt was possessed by a demon and locked him in a birdcage, with Octavius and brother Severus helpless witnesses to the abuse. Despite it, the three brothers formed a considerable partnership, watching each others' backs when possible.
In March 2012, the brothers underwent the Anatheman coming-of-age ceremony called the Rast. Octavius presented a raccoon sacrifice, representing "sharp intelligence and resourcefulness" -- a prediction which didn't quite come to pass due to Octy's laziness and his mother's coddling.
Shortly thereafter, the trio decided to leave Anathema. They went as one group but to separate destinations -- Judas to seek worldly knowledge and Severus to seek freedom. Unbeknownst to his brothers, Octavius did not leave the vicinity of Nova Scotia until young adulthood, when he finally strayed in search of adventure and experience.
Octavius sought out one with life experience -- and found it in, of all people, Jefferson Soul. Jefferson, having recently stepped down from his longtime position as leader of Phoenix Valley, committed himself to a solitary life near Quebec, where Octavius found his one-man settlement. Expectedly, the grumpy codger wanted nothing to do with the boy but, with Octavius both spoiled stupid and far too young to be fending for himself, the scarred man took him begrudgingly under his wing.
Jefferson handed down what he could teach the boy, including how to fight, and the two formed a friendship. In the aging Jefferson, Octavius found valuable experience and a depth of character (though a grumpy one), and came to admire the ex-leader, viewing him as a father figure in the stead of Barrett, who had been absent much of his childhood.
Octavius remained with Jefferson for over a year before setting off on his own again, this time straying closer to the territory from which he came, knowing well his brothers had also agreed to return.
Sleepwalker, Don't Be Shy Octavius reunites with Genova Mal, only to learn she was tortured by a loner—who fits Judas' description! Oct turns against his friend, calling her a liar.
[M]Dream of a Normal Death When Lokr Revlis seeks to kill Judas, Octavius defends his brother. He is poisoned by one of Lokr's blades even as he runs the man off.
Sinner and the Saint, Bandage and the Blade Judas Poer de Aika XIII tends to a delirious Octavius after the poisoning. The suffering Oct asks Judas if he did the atrocious things he was accused of, but Judas dodges the question and Oct succumbs to unconsciousness.
The Haze and Roads Forgotten Octavius and Farina vin Haki meet again, discussing loners and sculptures. When the subjects darken, they spar to make the encounter lighthearted again. Following a draw, they part ways as better friends.
Tearing Open the Veil A small loner, Gethsemane Aika trespasses into Krokar territory. Octavius confronts her, but learns that she is his niece. They part ways, Octy overjoyed and Nina uncertain what to think.
Soft-hearted Beasties Octavius is introduced to August Cormier's caribou, Magnolia. Gus and Taseko tell Octy that after all his hard work they'll let him help raise a new calf; Octy is touched.
