1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

With his dog ancestry, Harlow isn't as tall as most pure wolves, but he is certainly a tall sort for someone predominately dog, topping out at just a hair over six feet. His average weight gives him a lean build, skinner than some of the bulkier dogs but still able to hold his own. His colors and markings heavily favor his Beauceron ancestry, a dark, almost black, brown and a lighter sienna-type brown consisting of his few extra markings, covering part of his snout and neck, crossing his chest in a plate, covering his legs in short socks, and forming a dot over each of his eyes. Some forms of lighter browns and greys mottle his coat around his back in a saddle and a little bit in a few other places, but they don't disturb the main appearance too much. His eyes are a dark, warm brown, having the most color out of anything on his body.

As for the more unnatural parts of his appearance, one of the more odd ones are the cropped ears adorning his head, rather than letting his ears flop naturally. His attire is equally odd, with the olive drab pants being the most normal of all of them. Most of his wardrobe is handmade, albeit unprofessionally, and usually adorned with bits of sharp metal. His shoulder is protected by a banged up biohazard sign and his legs and arms with fused plates of metal, where his chest remained uncovered with the exception of a few straps that bind his shoulder pauldron and small backpack to him.

His build mostly resembles Beauceron, showing mixed ancestry in a lightened, sightly mottled coat.

  • Humanization: Medium to High. Harlow wears pants and some degree of armor, but much of his posture and movements, even in Optime, have a feral feel to them.

Coloration

  • Fur: Armadillo is his primary pelt color.
  • Markings:
    • Spicy Mix appears around his muzzle and neck, in eye spots and cheek spots, in a chest plate, and on his outer extremities.
    • Soya Bean and Tobacco Brown only appear in soft ticking around his coat, mostly where the Armadillo meets the Spicy Mix.
  • Optime Hair: Armadillo, though his hair never grown out long enough to appear as such.
  • Eyes: A dark Cedar.
  • Nose and Paw Pads: A dusty shade of Dune.
  • Scars: Harlow's most visible scars show as a bright Thatch compared to the dark color of most of his body.

Forms

Lupus

100 lbs (45 kg)27 in (71 cm)

Harlow is more obviously lean when in Lupus.

Secui

145 lbs (106 kg)34 in (86 cm)

His bulk starts to appear more in Secui.

Optime (Preferred)

235 lbs (111 kg)6ft 1in (74 in) (188 cm)

Most of his muscle is obvious in this form, even more so if you catch a glimpse of him in Lupus for reference.

Miscellaneous

Modifications

Cropped ears, making him seem even more intimidating.

Adornments

Harlow, surprisingly, isn't a fashionable person.

Jewelry and Accessories

  • Olive drab pants held together with spare leather and wrappings.
  • A necklace made from an old bike chain.

Gear

  • Shoulder pauldron made from a busted up biohazard sign that is strapped using spare leather.
  • Tiny backpack strewn together from the same spare drab as his pants. Only really holds small bits of scrap metal and some shivs.
  • Metal plates fused together to make armor for his arms and legs with bits of sharp scrap metal for some stabby bonus points.

Interaction

  • Scent: A different kind of trash, maybe some rust and oil.
  • Speech: Cajun white trash, with some hints of Spanish. It is a deep baritone.
  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Harlow is obsessive about blood and weapons, and will usually be messing his hands with either.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Hunched and feral is the best way to describe his posture, even though Harlow is still quite humanized. His body language is aggressive and confident.

2.  Personality

Put the "Laughter" in "Slaughter"Ax-CrazyThe Unfettered

Grown from the Great Plains to the dark, dank swamps of the Louisiana bayous, Harlow is a special soul. His current demeanor and personality wasn't so much a product of his upbringing as it was a factor in it. In actuality, he probably would have ended up this way at some point or another, just with a slightly different application. Still, his bloodthirsty, uncultured, and wild way of living suits him just fine in his opinion. Great, actually, like he was born to do it. His erratic behavior makes him a rather lonely sort, however, not lasting long in the presence of more "right-minded" individuals, even though Harlow isn't particularly stupid, just misguided in some respects.

His lack of contact with other beings has also made him very crude and childish, being uncensored and often unrestrained in both actions and thoughts. Be it vulgar words or indecent acts, Harlow has quite the reputation of being a vagrant, which he takes as quite the compliment, really. He's unfortunately proud of his unleashed nature, proving to be as free as he boasts to be. Every other word out of his mouth is crazed dribble, though, as far as sense goes. Though he can be creative and resourceful, Harlow can neither read nor write and you might as well forget math even exists.

2.1  Ideals

Traits

Outlook

  • Expression: Introverted, Dominant, Manic, and Erratic.
  • Sociability: Only is particularly "nice" when around those he thinks are like-minded. Very erratic most of the time anyway.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
    • "They see absolutely nothing wrong with taking whatever they want by whatever means possible."
    • "This is the cruel, brutal killer who trusts no one and has no value for anyone or anything that gets in his way. "
    • "One rarely knows how he might react to a given encounter."
    • "They will harm or destroy people for the sheer pleasure of it"
    • "A chaotic evil character never feels compelled to keep his word."

Motivations

  • Making weapons
  • Causing carnage
  • Chaos

Fears

  • Nothing. Bats, I guess.

Biases

Surprisingly, Harlow isn't particularly biased against anyone. He likes equal oppourtunity, so he will kill or befriend anyone of any shape, size, gender, creed, etc. It's unfortunate, however, that he's batshit crazy.
  • Size: None.
  • Faith: Harlow has never "got" religion. Religious zealots are just madmen praying to the sky under the guise of a cult, in his opinion.
  • Gender: None.
  • Non-Luperci: None
  • Packs: None, although he is particularly favorable towards Inferni due to their obviously violent reputation.

Sexuality

  • Duller than a tennis ball and as subtle as a shotgun, you'll know what Harlow wants once he figures out that he wants it.

Interests

  • Likes: Making things, carnage, chaos, deadly weapons, junk, old machinery
  • Dislikes: Cute things, not-so-cute things, everything. He dislikes everything.

Substances

  • You name it: Harlow's snorted it.

Spiritually

  • Harlow doesn't "get" spirituality very well. He knows obsessions and fascinations, but worshiping something he couldn't see never made much sense to him, nor does disguising obsession with cultism, so he usually tries to smack some sense into those he saw revering their "gods" - really, really hard.

3.  Relationships

3.1  Family: Fontaine?

  • Mother: Unnamed
  • Father: Unnamed
  • Siblings: None in the immediate litter, but there are probably others along with half siblings.
  • Mate: None.
  • Children: Surprisingly, none.

3.2  Relations

Positive Relations

  • Messiah de le Poer: Met Messiah in neutral territory and they murdered the hell out of some random wolf. He was also the inspiration for Harlow to join Inferni the first time he was in Nova Scotia.
  • Belial Massacre: Met Belial shortly after joining Inferni. They tortured someone together. Torture buddies, yaaaay!
  • Dullahan Eternity: Met Dullahan after returning to Nova Scotia for the second time, whilst riding his new companion. They made a business deal where Harlow makes Dullahan a custom weapon in return for some things.

Neutral Relations

  • None

Negative Relations

  • Micah Lykoi: Harlow beat up Micah and was a meanie to him. Boo.

3.3  NPCs

art by Titmouse

Brick

  • Species: American Bison
  • Age and DOB: Unknown, approx. 2-3 years old
  • Description: Dark maroon colors, darker at the head and legs and getting lighter towards the rump.
  • Personality: Lazy, sturdy, tough, rebellious, moody, gluttonous.
  • Gear Fused metal pieces that cover the head, shoulders, haunches, and limbs. A seat taken from a sport bike makes a saddle that sits behind the hump. Bags attached to the seat hold some of Harlow's inventory as well as some spare food.

4.  Skills and Inventory

4.1  Abilities

Strengths

Combat

  • Hand-to-Hand (Master): Harlow excels at wrestling and grappling, using his body weight and strength to his advantage.
  • Armed (Master): Harlow uses his axe a majority of the time and has used weapons for long enough and in such a variety of "creative" way that he knows exactly what limits he and the weapon has. Not only this, but the fact he created a lot of his weapons gives him an even bigger advantage.
  • Feral (Master): Before Harlow utilized weapons, he used his own body as one. Though he doesn't use this type of combat much anymore, he still retains the skills.
    • Harlow is physically strong. He is fast too, but favors strength due to his bulk.

Socio-Political

  • Lying (Journeyman): Harlow likes to deceive people, though he doesn't get very sophisticated.

Miscellaneous

  • Macgyvering (Master):
  • Animal Care (Apprentice): Since taking Brick into his care, Harlow has become slightly more knowledgeable on taking care of bovine animals. He still has some ways to go in terms of learning, but he is still a step above knowing nothing.

Weaknesses

Combat

  • Harlow is not a stealthy person, nor could he be one if he tried. He is a barbarian in every sense of the word and couldn't be quiet if it depended on his life. This also affects him socially.
  • he slow

Socio-Political

  • he has no idea how to be normal
  • not subtle

Miscellaneous

  • dumb as a rock
  • fifty shades of cray

4.2  Inventory

Trade

Harlow is always on the lookout for things that could hurt someone if you weren't careful, or maybe very careful. He'll trade a good amount of things for those, since marauding and being a bandit is pretty much how he makes his living. He's also up for commission, always liking to fuse unlikely things together to make terrifying and sometimes comical weapons for eager use.

  • Offering: Weapons, insane babbling, other bits of scrap metal if you have something enticing enough.
  • Accepting: Bits of scrap metal, food, weapons, whatever seems interesting.

Items

Weapons

  • Buzz Saw Axe
  • Chainsaw chain whip
  • Pipe wrench
  • A number of various makeshift shivs.

  • Bone
  • Wood
  • Hardware
  • Scissors

Born in the vast Great Plains, Harlow actually didn't spend enough time there to truly feel like he could call it his home. Instead, his family moved to the deep bayous of Louisiana, although he never quite found out why. Here, he found the swamps and marshes to his liking, along with plenty of old buildings filled with all kinds of treasures. By all accounts, Harlow was never going to be a "normal" child, but in the heart of the swamps he discovered just how unstable he was. The details have been fuzzy over the years, but he definitely remembers coming home dripping in his own blood, covered in tiny cuts with a rusty scalpel in his hand when he was around six months old. His parents seemed to be clouded with worry, while Harlow didn't seem fazed, if anything he was cool as a cucumber.

art by Titmouse

At a little over a year old, he decided that he liked the idea of being a nomad, wandering around with very little anchoring him down to any one place. Taking what little belongings he had, Harlow traveled north along the Appalachian Range, taking shelter in many abandoned buildings once belonging to farms and mines. This allowed him to find another wayfaring traveler, who introduced him to the ability to make the haphazard weapons that currently grants him what fame he might have. Once the other traveler had taught him everything he knew, Harlow found that this being didn't quite have the same effect on him anymore, no longer being able to provide him with useful, fun information. The traveler found himself dead by the next morning, his throat slit with one of the very weapons he'd taught Harlow how to make and his body stripped of possessions. After that, the now fully aged Harlow reached Canada, wandering towards a place he heard had plenty of bodies and hoards of scrap just waiting to be found.

After his first visit to Nova Scotia, Harlow left the clan he'd joined in the middle of the night while distracted by random bloodlust. He ended up traveling far out west, into the heart of the Canadian plains. Out there, he found a shepherding group who had taken to breeding and raising bison and had quite the herd by the time Harlow found them. Amazed at the size of the bison, Harlow's first though was, of course, what it tasted like. However, once he tried to charge one of the bison, other members of the herd charged right back. A rather large bull blew him backwards and knocked the wind out of him, the first time Harlow had really had that feeling before. Some of the shepherds ran over to him, though they weren't ready to help him after seeing that he tried to attack one of their bison. However, Harlow was amazed at the fact that none of the bison seemed afraid of him. In fact, they were almost ignorant until he approached, where they matched his aggression.

This ended up piquing his interest to an insane amount. Harlow questioned the shepherds about the bison, wanting to know as much as possible about this supposed prey who was unafraid of him and could potentially kill him if provoked. After some lengthy convincing, Harlow promised a large handful of weapons in exchange for one of their most aggressive bison. The shepherds called him crazy, but eventually agreed when they saw the indeed large handful of weapons Harlow provided and gave him one of their most aggressive bison. After some parting words about how to tame and care for a bison, the shepherds shooed him away from their herd, hoping he would leave them without carving up any of the bison. Surprisingly enough, Harlow saw the bison as equal enough to feed and provide for it, as well as treating it better than he had anything else. To him, it became the most useful living thing he'd come into contact with.

Lovingly dubbing the bison Brick, for both the reddish coloration and how it felt to be rammed by him, Harlow built Brick a matching set of armor, spiked out to protect him from anyone else who might want to try to taste his newfound companion. Though Brick wouldn't let him at first, Harlow eventually coaxed him into letting him ride on his back, sitting on a salvaged motorcycle seat while Brick wandered out east, towards the coast.
