1.  Description

Between Yarmouth and its neighbor Barrington lies a stretch of untamed wilderness paradise along the coast. Lush green fields and scattered forest border stone and sand beaches ofthe area. Though the fauna has overtaken the worn tire tracks of the most popular off-road trails, Highway 103 was asphalt and its ghost, slicing through the wilderness, provides an easy, straight path from one town to the other.

Four lanes are sparsely populated with numerous decaying cars -- they create a rather eerie atmosphere for travelers along the road. In some areas, broken and impartial skeletons still drape across the innards of the cars, evidence of the relatively fast death of some humans. The asphalt of the road has begun to crack after years of baking in the sun. Weeds and hardy grasses spring up from the earth between as the tree-roots beneath destroy the road from beneath. Overgrowth hangs thickly over both sides of the highway, allowing only a thin sliver of sunlight to penetrate through in the spring and summer.

2.  Landmarks

2.1  The Wreck

Close to Barrington, the highway is blocked by an immense tangle of cars and a two eighteen-wheeler trucks. Many were burned, char-marks showing on their bodies. Some are simply rusting away, but all have been damaged, apparently the result of a massive wreck in the last few days of humanity. Climbing over the wreckage is ill-advised -- there are a number of sharp metallic pieces and it is too easy to scrape an arm or leg against rusted metal when climbing.

2.2  Glenwood Campground

Off Highway 103, nestled into the wilderness between Yarmouth and Barrington, this tent camping and RV park was a popular destination in the time of humanity, located quite close to the beginnings of the Kejimkujik National Park. A number of pristine meadows mark the former tent camping sites, and a few rusted and decaying recreational vehicles still litter some of these small fields. A number of overgrown dirt roads snake through the area, their dirt paths long overgrown with grasses, shrubbery, and even saplings.

2.3  Heavens Gate

This landmark is certainly a wonder in itself. Near the border of the pack, it seems part of Highway 103 caved in years ago, revealing an underground lake. The hole that was created slowly grows larger as time passes but the cave itself is rather large. Though the rocks leading down to the water are not as steep as the cliffs bordering the ocean, they are extremely slick and it would be easy for someone to slip. It is unknown why there is such a large space under the highway and it would be difficult to find the reason. It is unclear how deep the water is, or just how far the cave extends.

2.4  Mistvale Woods

The woods are dense with numerous trees that nearly always seem to be covered in a haze. Depending on how thick the mist is, visibility through these woods can vary. It would be wise to watch ones steps while trekking through here, as it would be easy to end up walking in circles and becoming lost in the maze of mist and wood.

2.5  Witch Lake

The lake sits just on the outskirts of Mistvale Woods and shares the same haze that hovers over the still water. One is almost always able to see the treeline on the other side of the lake where Anathema's border lies just beyond. Witch Lake is eerily still, to the point it looks like glass lying on the ground. There is hardly ever movement on the lake unless it is being disturbed by someone, or by a passing storm.
